Since The Venture With Polydor Did Not Work Out As Of Today The Album Remains Shelved The Band Returned To Holland And Changed Their Name To Moonflower As A Result. They Were Signed By Sony's Columbia Label Soon After. In 1994 Moonflower Gained Attention In The Netherlands With Their Debut Single "Angel" Which Became One Of The Most Played Songs On Dutch Radio That Summer. Despite Massive Airplay And Video Rotation The Single Failed To Chart In The Dutch Top 40 And Only Made It To #44 In The Mega Top 50. And Even Though The Debut Album "The Real Thing" And Its Subsequent Singles Only Enjoyed Minor Success Press Reviews For Moonflower Were Raving And They Were Selected For Opening Shows In Holland Of Both Zucchero And Amanda Marshall. While Only The 1996 Single "Roses" Managed To Receive Some Substantial Airplay Moonflower Didn't Seize To Exist Until 1999 While Keyboard Player Geert Veneklaas Had Already Left The Band In 1996 Just After The Release Of The Second Moonflower-Album. After Their Silent Departure It Seems Like Moonflower Has Fallen Into Obscurity Without Maintaining Airplay On Dutch Radio For Any Of Their Released Singles. In September 2006 Pierre Oitmann Of The Popular Dutch Music Website 3VOOR12 Pointed Out That Moonflower's Break-Up Was "due To Lack Of Success" While Describing Their Most Well-Known Single "Angel" As A "moving Little Pop Song ... Inextricably Linked To The Summer Of '94". Jean Monsou And Angeline Bonette Continued To Work Together In The 2000s. In 2001 Belgium Singer Yasmine Had A Hit With "Ken Je Dat Gevoel" Penned By The Two Former Moonflower Members With Angeline Being Credited As Angelina . As Of 2008 Both Monsou And Bonette Are In The Utrecht Based 1980s Coverband The Serious Moonlight Named After David Bowie's 1983 Tour And Subsequent Concert Film "Serious Moonlight" With Former Members Of ChaCha The Snipers The Whisper Mode And Zalesky.
