Bebop & Rocksteady Are A Blues/rock/acoustic Band From Portlaoise Ireland. They Formed In February 2010 To Compete In A Battle Of The Bands And Since Then Have Played Shows Throughout Ireland. In April 2010 They Won The Irish Youth Music Awards Winning A Recording Deal With Garage Records And A CD Release In September Of 2010.
They Headlined The Dublin Zombie Walk In June Of The Same Year.
In August They Won The Laois Final Of The Guinness Our Thursdays Competition.
They Are To Be Featured On A Compilation Album Of 20 Of The Top Laois Musicians In 2011. Their Lyrical Content Is Varied With Focuses On Love Loneliness And Freedom. They Began With The Motto 'Viva Wingin' It' As They Formed The Night Before Their First Gig And Won It With No Practice At All But Shed This Ideal When They Were Booked For More Serious Events.
