Biografie van de kunstenaar The Case

There Are Multiple Artists Named The Case 1. US Garage Band
2. UK Funk Rock
3. Swedish 80s Powerpop Group
4. Finnish Jazz Group 1. The Case Were A Garage Band From Pennsylvania Who Privately Released Blackwood In 1971. The Album Was Recorded On A 4-Track In The Group's Music Classroom At Their School Over Christmas Break. 2. The Case Are A Five-Piece Funk/rock Group From Kent UK Formed In 2004 By School Friends Classically Trained Pianist Nick Hobbs And Guitarist/songwriter Will Page From The Ashes Of Their Hardcore Punk Band Powerpiss. The Group Expanded To Include Guitarist James Shuster And Drummer Rob Prastka With Page Handling Guitar/bass And Hobbs On Keyboard And Lead Vocals. Staying Loyal To Their Punk Roots The Band Began Recording Mainly Light-Hearted Catchy Songs Such As "Alice Thinks You're A Jerk" "Battleships" Featuring On Debut E.P. "The Brief Case" And "Kill" Before Writing Streetwise Ballads Fingerless Gloves And Empty Bottles And "Hold On" Both Of Which Were Minor Hits On The Local Scene. The Band Released Debut L.P. "The Pencil Case" In 2005 Swiftly Followed By "The Nutcase" Which Honed A More Mature Sound. A New Direction Came In The Summer Of 2005 Following The Departure Of Shuster And The Subsequent Aquisition Of Bassist James "Fitzy" FitzGerald. A Hugely Talented Musician FitzGerald Began Revolutionising The Band's Sound Ousting Hobbs In Favour Of Vocalist Jon Martin And Adopting A More Funk/blues Orientated Direction. However After Several Unsucessful Sessions And An Unsucessful Third Album "The Staircase" Which Featured Several Contributions From Hobbs Martin Was Too Replaced With Shuster Returning This Time As Lead Vocalist. Greg Pritchard Of The Greg Pritchard Experience And Mashed Potato Fame Also Enjoyed A Brief Stint In The Band As Guitarist In A Move Masterminded By New Manager Jamie McDonald. Mcdonald Also Moved The Band From Tonbridge To Sevenoaks Practicing At Page's House Rather Than Prastka's. This Move Caused Tension Within The Band Which Led To Prastka Temporarily Leaving With Page Switching To Drums Milly Palmer Joining On Guitar And James Shuster Leaving The Band. In 2006 Prastka Permanently Rejoined The Band Paving The Way For New Songs Such As "Mental Graffiti" And "The Song That Made Us What We Are On A Friday" Both Of Which Boasted An Impressive Blues/funk Sound. This Fertile Period Led To Page And Fitzgerald Ceasing Control Of The Band Splitting Time Between Page's Indie Sound Heard On "Indie Song" "Time To Forget" And "The Illusion" And FitzGerald's Funk Ethic Displayed On Hits Such As "Fitzy's Funk Song" And "DFA2". With Page Now Chief Songwriter/lyricist/vocalist/guitarist And Keyboardist The Band Developed A New Sound With Some Songs On The Group's Self-Titled Fourth Album Being Demoed With Page Alone On All The Instuments. Meanwhile James Shuster Rejoined The Band As A Third Guitar Player Followed Closely By Hobbs On Keyboard. This Honeymoon Period Ended In 2007 With FitzGerald And Page Once Again Becoming The Only Rehearsing Members Of The Band Occasionally Joined By Palmer. The Release Of 2007's "Zorro E.P" Was Recorded Alone By The Duo And Was Gretted With A Mediocre Reception Partly As Both Members Focused Primarily On Other Projects-Fitzgerald With Local Band Icarus And Page On Solo Project Shapes. The Case Are Currently On An Indefinate Hiatus And Although Not Formally Split It Is Generally Thought That They Will Not Play In The Near Future. However Both FitzGerald And Page Do Plan To Resume Working Together At Some Point. In The Meantime Icarus Have Continued To Go From Strengh To Strength As Have Page's Band Kadets Formed In January 2008 And Solo Project Shapes.
