Ghost In The Canyon Is The Stage And Recording Name Of Dream Folk Singer And Songwriter Catherine Rose Smith Born Stanford CA United States 14 July 1992 . She Currently Splits Time Between Los Angeles CA And San Francisco CA. The Name Ghost In The Canyon Is Inspired By A Lyrics From The Song "Shivering Faun" By The Fruit Bats. She Has Released The EP "Morning" Recorded At San Francisco's Famous Studio Trilogy As Well As Several Albums Of Self-Produced Material. Smith Was Raised Near Palo Alto California United States Where Her Parents Researched And Taught Neurophysiology At Stanford University. From An Early Age She Danced Ballet And Performed In Musicals But After Learning To Play The Guitar At Age 16 Her Interest Turned To Music And Songwriting. Her Repertoire Of Instruments Expanded To Include Piano Mandolin And Harp. Ghost In The Canyon Released The Debut EP "Morning" In January Of 2013.
