The Textones Were A Southern California Power Pop/punk Band Formed In 1979 By Carla Olson And Future Go-Go's Bassist Kathy Valentine. The Textones Released A Few Singles In The Early 1980s For IRS Records One Of Which Penned By Valentine Called "Vacation" Would Later Be A Hit For The Go-Go's When Recorded In 1982 . Valentine Left The Group In 1980 To Join The Go-Go's. The Textone's Major-Label Debut Was "Midnight Mission" For A&M Records In 1984. Their Follow-Up Album "Cedar Creek" Appeared In 1987 On Enigma Records. The Band Dissolved In 1988. The Textones Were Carla Olson Guitars Percussion Vocals George Callins Guitars Dulcimer Vocals Joe Read Bass Guitar Vocals Tom Junior Morgan Saxophone Keyboards Vocals Rick Hemmert Drums Percussion
