Artist Biography For Safe In The Crossfire

SSafe In The Crossfire Is A Rock Band From Sheffield UK. They Have Self-Released One Single And Three EPs As Well As Supporting Senses Fail Brigade Fenix TX And Future Of The Left. SITC Officially Formed In March 2009 But The Foundations Were Put In Place When Guitarist Andy Found Vocalist And Bassist Nick On A Website For Forming Bands In November 2008. They Worked Hard Writing And Recording Demos Until March 2009 When They Felt Ready To Complete The Line-Up Hoping That Nick's Friends And Former Band Mates Simon And James Would Want To Join. After Hearing The Demos Simon Was Happy To Drum At Their First Practice. The Intention Was To Practise As A Three-Piece For A Few Weeks Before Asking James To Come Along And See What He Thought. Simon Was So Excited About SITC That He Brought James To Their Second Practice Which Was Only A Few Days Later. Fortunately James Fitted In Perfectly And SITC Was Complete. In November 2009 SITC Recorded Five Tracks With Friend And Producer Tom Henthorn At Ebb-Tone Recording Studio. The Original Intention Was To Release These Tracks As A Debut EP But Only One Track 'Escape' Was Officially Released. Escape Was SITC's Debut Single And Was Released As A Free Download On 22nd February 2010. 500 Hand-Numbered CD's Were Released At The Same Time To Give Away At Shows And To Leave In Bars And Shops In Sheffield For The General Public To Pick Up. The CD Was Made Available In Five Different Colours With 100 In Each Colour. On Monday 12th July 2010 SITC Took Part In A Local Rock Club's Corporation Battle Of The Bands And Won Their Heat. That Friday 16th SITC Played The Final And Finished In Second Place. The Prize For Coming Second Was A Support Slot With Future Of The Left At Corporation On Saturday 24th July As Part Of Sheffield's Tramlines Music Festival. The Battle Of The Bands Competition Was A Turning Point For SITC. In Just Under Two Weeks They Played Corporation Three Times After Having Never Played There Before They Supported A Signed Band And Took Part In A Festival. SITC Played At Corporation A Further Three Times In 2010 Supporting StoneRun Fenix TX And Brigade. It Was Also During The Battle Of The Bands That SITC Met Steve Laycock Who Gave Them Their First Out Of Town Gig And Second Festival Slot At Barnsley's Weston PHest And Graeme Atkinson A Producer In Sheffield Who Was Interested In Working With The Band On Their Next Recording. SITC Met With Graeme At His Studio The Vault Studio And Were Very Impressed By His Enthusiasm And His Previous Work With Bands Such As All At Stake Century Kids Now Known As ‘Without Our Crowns’ And Take The Seven. Graeme Visited SITC At Their Practice Space Where They Performed The Songs They Planned To Record And A Date Was Set To Start Recording. On Sunday 22nd August 2010 SITC Started Work On Their Debut EP 'Warning Shots' With Graeme As Producer. Four Tracks Were Recorded And 'Wick At Both Ends' Became Available To Stream On The Band's Myspace Page On 4th January 2011. Warning Shots Was Released As A Free Download On Monday 24th January 2011. On Saturday 2nd July 2011 SITC Began Recording Their Sophomore EP 'Sakura' With Graeme Atkinson Taking Role Of Producer Once Again. When Asked About The Recording Process Nick Said "We Had Known Graeme For Over A Year At This Point And Considered Him A Close Friend. We Knew How He Worked And He Knew How We Worked. We Had A Great Time Recording ‘Warning Shots’ With Him And We Were Very Pleased With The Results So There Was No Question Who We Would Work With On 'Sakura'." SITC Had Learned Much From Recording And Releasing 'Warning Shots' So They Were More Prepared When Recording 'Sakura'. "When Graeme First Asked Us To Record With Him We Were So Excited At The Offer And Jumped Into The Studio With The Newest Songs We Had. We Were All Very Proud Of 'Warning Shots' But With Hindsight It Is Clear That It Was A Much Heavier Record Than 'Escape' Or Any Of Our Other Previously Recorded Songs. It Was A Bit Of A Shock To The System For Fans Of Our Older Material And Only Really Showed One Side Of The Band. We Were Determined To Make 'Sakura' A More Balanced Record So We Were More Careful When Deciding Which Songs To Include. It Was Also The First Time We Set Aside Time For Pre-Production And That Was Extremely Useful For Song Tempos Arrangements Etc." In July 2012 SITC Played Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival Twice. They Opened Corporation Nightclub’s Tramlines Stage On Friday 20th And Played Their First Ever Acoustic Set In The Sheffield City Hall Foyer Bar. The Acoustic Sets In The Foyer Bar Were Timed To Be Between Acts Playing On The Nando’s New Music Stage In Barker’s Pool. SITC’s Acoustic Set Was Between Rolo Tomassi And Headliners 65daysofstatic. SITC Also Produced A Limited Edition CD EP Called ‘Tramlines EP’. This Was A Four-Track Compilation Of Songs Taken From Each Of The Band’s Recording Sessions To Date. Only 150 Were Made And Handed Out During The Festival. On Sunday 12th August 2012 SITC Filmed An Acoustic Performance In Their Practice Space Which Was Similar To Their City Hall Acoustic Set. As A Thank You For Their Fans’ Patience A Video Of A Different Song Was Released Each Week In The Run Up To The Release Of ‘Sakura’. Sakura Is Scheduled For Release On Saturday 6th October 2012. After A Brief Break From Music Safe In The Crossfire Reformed With New Drummer Dan In April Of 2014. After A Few Months Practise They Had Already Created Several New Songs That Were Ready For Recording. SITC's Comeback Gig Came At The South Sea In Sheffield In February 2015. This Sparked A New Flame In The Bands Passion And Hopefully Shall Become The First Step In Reviving The Band. Band Members Andy Taylor - Guitar
Nick Warne - Vocals/Bass
Danny Noble - Drums
