http //www.Reverbnation.Com/gretanovaofficial Gretanova A Sheffield Based Alternative Metal/rock Band Who In Their Six Year Stretch Have Gone Through Several Lineup Changes. Made Up Of Four Musicians With Varying Influences Something That Makes Song Writing More Interesting. Formed In 2006 Gretanova Started Out As A Female Fronted Post-Grunge/country Outfit Based In Leeds. They Featured Lead & Rhythm Guitars Bass And Kept Timing Using A Drum Machine. After 5 Months And A Few Ideas For Songs They Replaced The Drum Machine With Surviving Member James Hart Who Took Over The Grungy Drum Sound Well And Adding Elements Of His Own. With A Few Months Of Practising And The Lineup Firmly In Place Gretanova Finally Began To Think About Gigging And Recording. With Several Gigs Out The Way The Band Went Into The Studio And Recorded Their Demo Recording "Your Children Are Not Special" Named After A Famous Bill Hicks Routine. After A Couple Of Years Gigging And Song Writing Founding Members Charlie Hill Andy Glynn And Dunstan Blay Decided To Move Onto Other Things Leaving Gretanova As A 2 Piece. Luckily New Guitarist Matt Churchard Was Found Very Shortly After And With Lee Switching To Bass Allowed The Band To Continue Writing As A 3 Piece. After A Few Months Of Auditions Gretanova Evolved Into A 5 Piece Band. With Vocalist Ben Moorhouse Bringing With Him Much Need Synth And Guitarist Mark Vincent Adding Power And Structure The Band Continued To Gig With A Much Harsher Metallier Edge Than Previous Lineups. A New EP "100th Idiot" 2010 Corporate Records Was Recorded Over Two Days At The End Of May At Cellar Door Recordings In Rotherham. After Completing A Small Tour In October 2010 And Another In January/February 2011 The Band Parted Ways With Guitarist Matt And Moved Away From The Heavier Sound Of 100th Idiot Replacing It With A More Alternative Melodic Sound. With Ben Picking Up Rhythm Guitar Duties For Some Songs The Band Commenced Writing A New Set Of Songs And Quickly Jumped Back Into The Studio Recording A New 5 Track E.P At The Lock Up Studios Outside Sheffield. With InterNegative 2012 Recorded The Band Are Now Back On The Gigging Scene And Are Stronger Than Ever! "an Awesome Introduction To The New Sheffield Sound In All Of It's Explosive And Unrelenting Glory." - MOG.Com "genuinely Good Definitely Worth Seeing Live" - The Primrose Leeds
