The Peatbog Faeries Are A Celtic Fusion Band. Formed In 1994 They Are Based In Dunvegan On The Isle Of Skye Scotland. Their Music Embodies Many Styles And Influences Including Rock Jazz Electronica And Folk - But Their Main Influence Is Traditional Celtic Music. The Band's Unique Sound Is Created Through A Mix Of Programmed Effects And Traditional Celtic Arrangements Played On Bagpipes Fiddles And Whistles. The Faeries Draw Heavily On More Traditional Scottish Bands Such As Silly Wizard The Tannahill Weavers Capercaillie And Most Notably Shooglenifty. Peatbog Faeries Formed In 1994. They Recorded And Released Their Debut Album Mellowosity In 1996 On Greentrax Recordings. After A 5-Year Break They Returned With Their Second Album Faerie Stories On 4 June 2001. The Album Featured A More Experimental Blend Of Club/dance Music And Funk Combined With Celtic Music. It Received Positive Reviews To Those Who Noticed The Album. The Band Left Greentrax Records And Set Up Their Own Label Peatbog Recordings. On The Label They Released Their Third Album Welcome To Dun Vegas In 2003. The Album Introduced Vocals Although Only A Small Amount. In 2005 They Released Croftwork Which Saw The First Appearance Of Brass In Their Album A Theme Which Would Carry On Into Their Next Album What Men Deserve To Lose Released 2007. The Band Toured In 2008 With Their Most Famous Gig Probably Being At The Village Pump Festival. They Released Live In 2009 Their First And Only Live Album Made Up Of Two Of Their Performances In 2008. The Band Have Not Revealed Plans For A New Album As Of April 2010 But Following The Band's 2-Year Gap In Between Their Albums Which Begun In 2001 It Is Likely That An Album Will Be Released In 2011.
