Sacramento California Glam Rockers VAMP LE STAT Actually Formed In 1991 But It Wasn’t Until ‘92 That VLS Really Came Together. With The Lineup Of Jimmy Tuttle On Lead Vocals And Guitar Drummer Bret Blackburn Brian Boozer On Bass Keyboards And Vocals And Guitarist Jeff Jones Formerly Of St. Elmo’s Fire VAMP LE STAT Began To Make It’s Presence Felt In A Big Way All Over The Western United States. At The Time They Seemed Mysterious Which Added A Certain Mystique To The Band Right From The Start. At First They Played No Gigs At All. Instead Choosing To Write And Rehearse In A Converted Warehouse Located Behind Several Strip Clubs In Sacramento. It Was Referred To As The “Batcave” And It Soon Became Quite Infamous. In Fact The Band Was Convinced It Was Haunted By Someone Who Had Died There Years Before. Only Their Select Friends And Strippers Were Allowed To Enter. It Was At The Batcave That They Actually Lived Slept Partied And Of Course Write Songs And Rehearse. The First Live Performance Was Held There. They Invited A Few People To Hear The Songs That Would Become “Bloodline” . It Was Meant Only As A Small Showcase But The Strippers Who Had Been To The Rehearsals Had Other Ideas. Unknown To VAMP LE STAT They Had Been Telling Everyone For Weeks About The Songs They Had Been Hearing And By The Time Of The Show Hundreds Of People Began Congregating At The Entrance To The “Cave”. It Was A Madhouse And The Band Had To Perform The Songs Twice Because People Refused To Leave. It Was In 1993 That VLS Released Their Now Famous “BLOODLINE “ CD. It Was Meant Just For Their Fans And Only 2000 Copies Were Pressed. Now XXX RECORDS AMERICA Is Reissuing It With New Packaging And Bonus Tracks. In 1994 They Wrote And Recorded Songs For “Bloodline 2 “ Continuing The Story Of “Madame Blue” A Vampire Stripper Named Suzie. XXX RECORDS AMERICA Has Released “BLODDLINE 2 THRILL OF THE KILL” Earlier This Year For The First Time. Although They Played Infrequently Every Show Was Packed. They Performed With Quiet Riot Michael Shenker Candlebox Zakk Wylde And Many Others Who Would Come To Sacramento. In 1994 They Recorded A Concert That Proved To Be The Last Show With The Original Lineup. Jeff And Brian Decided To Leave VLS. In 2010 XXX Records America Received The Tapes And Have Released The Concert On CD For The First Time. In 1995 VAMP LE` STAT Issued The Album “Filth” With New Members Then “The Basement Tapes” In 2000 And “So Far” In 2006 Produced By Brian Wheat Of Tesla Currently VAMP LE STAT Is Writing Songs For A New Album Expected Sometime Next Year. read less
