The Fureys & Davey Arthur Was An Irish Traditional Folk Band Formed In 1976 By The Four Furray Brothers Finbar Eddie Paul And George And A Family Friend Davey Arthur. After 1993 When Arthur No Longer Performed With Them The Band Name Was Simplified To The Fureys. In 1976 Three Of The Furey Brothers Finbar Furey Eddie Furey And Paul Furey The Latter Having Previously Been In The Buskers With Friend Davey Arthur Formed A Folk Group Called Tam Linn. When Furey Brother George Joined Them Later That Year The Band Changed Name To The Furey Brothers & Davey Arthur Then More Simply The Fureys & Davey Arthur. The Name Eventually Simplified To The Fureys When Arthur No Longer Performed With Them After 1993 Though He Returned For A Number Of Recordings Until He Had A Stroke In 2014 .
