RaNia Also Known As BP RaNia Was A Girl Group From South Korea Signed Under The Label Dr. Music Entertainment. RaNia Were Originally Intended To Debut As An 8 Member Unit Consisting Of Yijo Joy Riko Jooyi Saem Di T-Ae And Xia However Due To Visa Problems Yijo Was Unable To Participate And Departed From The Group. The Group Consists Of A Diverse Composition Of Members From China America And Korea And Has Been Labeled As The Third Generation Of Baby V.O.X. They Debuted In Order To Promote Both In Korea And America. Their Former Producer Teddy Riley Is Especially Known In The States For Composing For Michael Jackson The Pussycat Dolls Jay-Z R. Kelly Lady Gaga And Other Pop Artists. The Group Is Also Known For Member T-Ae’s Role As Jay Park’s Younger Sister In The Hollywood Film “Hype Nation.” Their First Single "Teddy Riley The First Expansion In Asia" Was Released On April 4th 2011. Recording For Debut Single Took Place At LA’s Burbank Encore Studio. Lady Gaga’s Choreographer Richard Jackson Participated In Their Choreography. On The 16th Of November 2011 RaNia Released Their Second Single "Time To Rock Da Show" With The Title Track "POP POP POP" Which Was Produced By Brave Brothers Being Promoted On Music Shows. Member Joy Was Said To Have Left The Group In 2012 But DR Music Released A Statement Saying She Was In Thailand Visiting Family And Would Return. In August Of That Year Joy Made A Video Confirming That She Had Left RaNiA And Would Be Debuting As A Solo Artist. She Is Now A Member Of Gaia A T-Pop Group Whose First Video "Audition" Has Garnered Over Two Million Views. In May 2012 The Girls Performed "Killer" A Song That Was Thought To Be Their Comeback Song At The 2012 Dream Concert At The World Cup Stadium In Seoul But In September 2012 They Came Back With The Song "Style". In October 2012 DRMusic Announced That RaNia Would Be Making Their American Debut In November Of 2012 But Announced In Early 2013 That This Had Been Postponed And That RaNia Would Be Coming Back In Late January Of 2013. They Made Their 2013 Comeback With "Just Go" Although Riko Did Not Participate As She Had Gone On Hiatus. In Early 2014 It Was Announced That The Girls Would Be Moving Into The Spanish Market And As Riko Had Elected To Focus On Her Schoolwork For The Time Being Ingenio Media The Girls' Spanish Company Would Be Holding Auditions To Replace Her. Ingenio Media Later Released A Statement Saying That Their Statement About Riko Leaving Was Incorrect And That DR Music Would Be Making An Official Statement About The Situation. In Fall Of 2014 Ingenio Media Announced They Would No Longer Be Working With RaNia Due To RaNia "taking Too Long" With Their Song. It Was Later Revealed That Ingenio Media Had Purposefully Leaked RaNia's Comeback Song "Audition" To A Fan Causing DR Music To Try To Redo The Comeback Before Being Dumped By Ingenio Media. Soon Afterwards Fans Noticed That Saem Had Been Unfollowed On Social Media By All The Other Members Of The Group And She Had Not Been Seen With Them At Any Live Events Since July 2014. DR Music Did Not Issue An Official Statement On Saem But Instead Announced That Riko Had Left The Group Saying "After The Completion Of The Promotions Of The Single 'Style' Riko Told Us With That She Would Take Her University Entrance Exams To Study A Career She Asked For A 3 Year Break To Complete Her University Studies And Once She Graduated From College She Could Return To The Group As A Member Of RaNia But The Problem Came Back This Year When She Reproached Subjects In The University She Made Us Aware Of This Situation And Asked For A Year More Absence That We Found Impossible Since Although She Promotes Or Not With The Group We As A Company Should Continue Paying A Normal Salary That Is Unfair To Us And The Other Members Of The Group Because She Can Not Postpone Her Absence Anymore She Decided To Leave The Group And The Agency." In January Of 2015 Jooyi Stopped Attending Performances With The Group To Which DR Music Replied That She Was Simply On Hiatus But Eventually Confirmed That She Had Left The Group. She Later Redebuted As "Cosmic Girl" In 2016 With The Song "Don't You Worry About Me". The Group Had Their First Comeback In Nearly Three Years In October 2015 With The Track "Demonstrate" Which Introduced New Members Seulji Hyeme And Alex And Confirmed Saem's Departure. The Group Had Been Participating In A Makestar Fundraising Project But After Several Postponements By DR Music Makestar Released A Statement Saying "due To Repeated Failed Attempts To Contact DR Music About The Project's Progress And The Continued Irresponsible Behavior And Stance Taken By The RANIA Project Creator And Our Unwillingness To Ignore The Inconvenience This Is Causing To The Project Participants" The Project Would Be Terminated And All Money Returned To The Fans. T-Ae Xia And Di Left The Group In Mid-2016 With The Intention Of Redebuting As A Trio In "Ela8te" But Ultimately Chose Not To Although Fans Speculated That DR Music Had Blocked The Girls From Redebuting. The Group Returned In 2017 As"BP RaNia" Short For "Black Pearl Regeneration Idol Of Asia" With The Track "Start A Fire". The Group Added New Members JiEun Former Member Of L.P.G Yumin And Ttabo Along With Returning Original Member Saem Now Using The Stage Name "Yina" . Member Seulji Also Began Using The Stage Name "Zi.U". Yina Left The Group In June Before The Release Of Their "Refresh 7th" Mini-Album. BP Rania Remained As A Six-Membered Group Releasing Their Seventh EP Refresh 7th On August 12 With Title Track "Beep Beep Beep". Promotions Became Controversial When Fans And Viewers Noticed That Alex Had Few Lines And In Fact Spent The Majority Of The Performance Standing To The Side While The Remaining Five Members Continued To Dance And Sing. Soon Afterwards It Was Announced That Alex Had Left The Group. On September 13 It Was Announced That The Group Would Be Making A Comeback With "Breathe Heavy" From Their Refresh 7th EP. In January 2018 After Fans Noticed That Ttabo Had Missed Several Appearances With The Group DR Music Issued A Statement Stating She Was Filming A Movie In China. On May 31 DR Music Announced The Departure Of Yumin From The Group. It Was Also Announced That The Group Would Be Having A Comeback In June And Releasing A "Best Of" Album In August But Neither Event Occurred. On June 28 It Was Announced That A New Member Named Namfon Had Joined The Group. On November 2018 Fans Noticed That Every Remaining Member Of The Group Had Removed "Rania" From Their Social Media Accounts And That The Company Had Unfollowed Some Of The Members Leading To Rumours Beginning To Circulate That DR Music As A Company Had Gone Bankrupt And Defunct And The Group Had Unofficially Disbanded. On August 18 2019 Rania Announced Via Their Official Instagram Account That They Would Be Performing In Romania From September 4–5 With Three Unconfirmed Members. Fans Began Speculating That This Meant Zi.U And Jieun Had Left The Group. On August 28 The Group's Official YouTube Account Uploaded A Video Confirming The Romania Performance As Well As Revealing The Three New Members As Seunghyun Larissa And Ex-Stellar Member Youngheun As Well As Confirming Departures Of Jieun Zi.U And Ttabo.
