Royston Sta Maria And Francissca Peter Better Known As ‘Roy & Fran’ Was An Unbeatable Duo Act In The Early 1980s. They Were At Times Dubbed ‘The Carpenters’ Of Malaysia. The Pairing Brought Them Immense Popularity Among Malaysians. Their Natural Chemistry Good Vocals And Soothing Harmonies Were Admired By Many Culminating In The Release Of Two Albums. They Were Both Active In Their School Choir And Church Choir And Their Interest In Music Started From A Very Early Age. Fran Teamed Up With Roy When She Was 18 After The Band That She Was With Broke Up And She Needed To Work Being The Sole Breadwinner In Her Family. The Record Label EMI In Malaysia Signed Them Up Because Their Popularity Was Undeniably Rising With A Huge Following Everywhere They Performed Live. The Duo’s Debut Album Siapa Dia Sebelum Daku In 1982 Was Released. Followed By The Second Album Bersama Pertemuan Ini In 1983. They Are And Still Remembered By Many As The Most Loved Duo With Some Great Hit Songs To Their Name.
