The Mission District Became A Band During The Summer Of 2004 When David Rancourt Vocals Travis Barfoot Guitar And Rob Rousseau Guitar Decided To Work On A Few Song Ideas Rather Than Baking In The Hot Montreal Sun. After Adding Long Time Friends Antoine Rochette On Bass And Patrick Naud On Drums Near The End Of The Year The Mission District Started Spreading Their Dream Pop To The Masses With A Series Of Local Shows. In Early 2005 The Band Recorded Their First Self-Released EP The Mission District EP And Sold Out Its First Two Pressings. The Band Then Exported Its Sound To Toronto And Played The UKULA Bright Lights Festival In The Fall Of 2005 Which Featured Such Bands As Elbow Islands The Duke Spirit And The Meligrove Band. Since Then The Band Have Played Several Sold Out Shows In Montreal Including Being The Opening Act For Mobile's Sold Out CD Launch At Club Soda This Spring. Also The Band Have Played A Handful Of Shows In Toronto As Well As Chicago And New York. The Band Is Currently In The Studio Recording Its First Album With Matt Dematteo Ashley MacIsaac Hawksley Workman Big Wreck And Is Aiming For A Release In 2007
