It Was In 1997 When Semy Craig Lowry And Ince Teamed Up For Music. Instantly They Were Noticed By One Of The Most Popular Bands In Estonia At That Time - Noisy Nation Who Became The First Ones To Lead And Teach The Guys The Know-Hows Of The Music Business. It Took A Lot Of Hard Work Ups And Downs To Get Recognized But The Guys Were Determined To Achieve Success In The Music World Doing What They Love. After A While Their Shows Which Were Full Of Energy And Up-Tempo Songs Caught The Eye Of Different Music Businessmen Through Who They Found Themselves Touring In Finland Denmark And Estonia. Major Performances Took Place At Jyrki Supershow 2000 Rantarock 2001 Lunden Festival 2001 Sony Playstation Tour 2001 Pühajärve Beachparty Grillfest Schoolfest Estonian Music Award Show Etc.
After The Eurovision Of 2001 When Estonia Won With Tanel Padar And Dave Benton Singing Lead And Soul Militia Under The Name Of 2XL Singing Backing Vocals The Guys Thought About Going A Little Further. They Felt Ready To Record Their First Album. So They Got Together With The Producers From Downtown Studios And Got Signed To Downtown Productions Who Was To Release Their First Album. In The Studio Producers And The Band Clicked Instantly - It Was More Fun Than Work. With Almost Every Day Spent In The Studio Rehearsing Listening To Their Favorite Artists Or Just Spending Time Together The Guys Have Become More And More Confident About Their Own Style And Approach To Music.
Their First Album ‘On The Rise’ Is Sensual And Energetic R’n’b And Is One Of A Kind In Estonian Music Market Leading It To A New Direction. This Has Been A Dream For The Guys For Years. The Album Was Released In November 2002. Their First Singles "Mind Made Up" And "Freak In Me" Have Climbed The Charts Of Estonian Radio Stations And Gotten Good Reviews.
“SOUL” In The Band’s Name Stands For The True Commitment Of The Guys. Everything That Has Ever Been Done Has Come From Their Hearts. “MILITIA” Is The Symbol Of Strength And Order. All The Bit Of Success The Guys Have Tasted Is The Result Of Nothing But Hard Work And Fight For Their Ultimate Dream Come True – Get To Live For Their Music. In The Very Beginning Soul Militia Did Not Have Many People Supporting Them - R’n’b Did Not Seem To Be The Easiest Way For Business Cats To Make Money. But The Boys Stayed True To Their Loved Style And Never Gave Up What They Really Believed In.
