Mark Andre Sometimes Spelled Mark André Though Not Preferred Is A French Composer Of Mostly Chamber Works That Have Been Performed Throughout Europe. Mr. Andre Finished His Studies At The Conservatoire National Supérieur De Musique De Paris In 1992 Where He Earned Six Premier Prix. He Earned His PhD Under The Supervision Of Olivier Boulnois And Philippe Vendrix At The École Normale De Paris Ulm-Jourdan And The Centre D'Études Supérieures De La Renaissance De Tours In 1993. He Studied With Helmut Lachenmann At The Musikhochschule Stuttgart From 1994-97 And Attended Darmstadt In 1996 Where He Studied With Paul-Heinz Dittrich And Wolfgang Rihm. His Honors Include A Residency At The Akademie Schloss Solitude 1995-96 First Prize In A Harpsichord Competition In Winterthur 1996 For Un-Fini II The Kompositionspreis From The City Of Stuttgart 1996 For Le Trou Noir Univers And The Blaue Brücke Preis 1996 For Fatal . Other Honors Include A Residency At The Villa Médicis-Hors-Les-Murs In Germany 1996 The Kranichsteiner Musikpreis At Darmstadt 1996 A Residency At The Experimentalstudio Of The Heinrich-Strobel-Stiftung 1997 And The Title Of Meisterschüler At The Akademie Der Künste In Berlin 1997 . His Most Recent Honors Are The Baldreit-Preis In Baden-Baden 1998 A Year As Composer-In-Residence To The Ensemble Champ D'Action 1999-2000 A Residency At The Villa Medici In Rome 1999-2001 The Internationaler Kompositionspreis Of The Oper Frankfurt Am Main 2001 And The Förderpreis Der Siemens-Stiftung 2002 . He Has Received Commissions From Many Ensembles Festivals And Organizations Including The Arditti String Quartet The Biennale München Champ D'Action Darmstadt The Ensemble 2e2m Donaueschingen Ensemble Intercontemporain Ensemble Modern Ensemble Recherche Ensemble SurPlus The Festival D'Automne Festival Présences Les Percussions De Strasbourg Radio France SWR And ZKM. He Taught At Darmstadt In 1998 At The Musikhochschule Frankfurt Am Main In 2001 And At The Conservatoire National De Région De Strasbourg In 2002.
