883 Read As Otto Otto Tre Were An Italian Pop Rock Group Founded In Pavia. The Group Was Initially Composed Of Max Pezzali And Mauro Repetto Until Mauro Left In 1994. The Story Of 883 Began In Pavia In The Eighties When Massimo Pezzali Later Known As Max Pezzali And Mauro Repetto Found Themselves Classmates At School. A Few Years Later They Made Their Debut In 1989 By Participating In The Program 1 2 3 Jovanotti Hosted On Italia 1 By The Then Emerging Jovanotti . The Provisional Name "I Pop" Was Chosen For The Two From The Play On The Words "Hip-Hop" And "pop Music" And They Present A Song In English Entitled Live In The Music With Rap Sounds. Apparently The Project Would Not Produce Any Sequel. In 1991 On Behalf Of Max Pezzali The Group Name Was Changed To 883. The Album Charted At Number One For A Few Weeks And Sold Over 650 000 Copies. In 1993 The Group Released Their Second Studio Album Nord Sud Ovest Est North South West East . The Album Proved To Be More Successful Than Their Debut And Sold Over 1 350 000 Copies. Many Singles Were Also Taken From This Album Which Helped The Album Stay In The Charts At Number One For A While. During 1994 After A Nightclub Tour The Original Lineup Of 883 Disbanded Leaving Max As The Sole Member Of The Group. Also In This Time A Remix Album Was Released Titled Remix '94 A Collection Of The Main Pieces From The First Two Albums In A Remix Version With The Addition Of The Previously Unreleased Song Chiuditi Nel Cesso. It Reached Number 16 Among The Best-Selling Albums Of 1994 With 270 000 Copies Sold Despite The Poor Promotion It Had Recieved. In The Summer Of 1995 Pezzali Presented The New Members Of The Group. Made Up Of Nine Members Who Already Played Together In Milanese Clubs Under The Name Of Elefunky Including The Backing Singers Paola And Chiara Iezzi Subsequently Launched As Soloists Daniele Moretto And Michele Monestiroli Respectively On Trumpet And Saxophone Jacopo Corso And Roberto Priori On Guitars Sandro Verde On Keyboard Leandro Misuriello On Bass And Ivan Ciccarelli On Drums. In This Year Max Pezzali Also Takes On The Role Of Leader And Main Composer Of The Group. Shortly After This The Groups Third Album La Donna Il Sogno & Il Grande Incubo The Woman The Dream & The Great Nightmare Is Released. The Album Topped The Charts Selling Over One Million Copies During The Year And Proved To Be Their Most Notable And Successful Work To Date. During This Time The Album Also Saw The Return Of Mauro Whom Wrote The Songs Tieni Il Tempo Holding Time Musica Music And Non 6 Bob Dylan Not 6 Bob Dylan . 1996 Was A Break Year For 883 Except For A Summer Participation In The Cecchetto Compilation Collection Which Included Unreleased Pieces By All The Artists Produced By The Well-Known Talent Scout. 883 Participate With An Unreleased Song And Also Collaborate With B-Nario On Their New Album. This Album Saw The Band Reaching The Top Of The Charts Again And Managed To Sell 800 000 Copies. The Creation Of The Jolly Blu Project Also Began In The Summer Of 1997 The First And Only 883 Film Freely Inspired By Pezzali's Songs. The Film Was Released In Theaters Produced By Cecchetto And Was Popular Throughout The Year.
