There Are 2 Bands With This Same Name 1 Walking Abortions Were A Techno Band Hailing From Northern Finland Most Active Under This Name During The Period Of 2001-2003 Even Though Their Members Wrote Music Under Different Aliases Together And Separately Years Before Walking Abortions Was Founded. They Drew Their Biggest Inspirations From Mostly Big Beat Techno Bands Including "The Chemical Brothers" And "The Prodigy". The Guys Themselves Described Their Style Of Music As "Chemical" Although You Can Clearly Hear Many Hard Rock Elements In Their Music As Well. "Meet Us At The Highlands" Even Though It's Basically Just A Small Collection Of Demo Songs Was Their Only "proper" EP Release And Copies Of It Were Handed Out In Both Digital And Cd Form For No Charge. Songs Off The "Highlands" Also Landed Them Their First Gig At A Finnish Techno Party In Helsinki Where They Were The Only Band To Get The Gig With A Demo Cd. Many Of Their Earlier Works Were Distributed Through The Old Mp3.Com Site Where "Needle" Was Their Biggest Success In Terms Of Downloads Peaking Into The Top 100 In Its Category. They Never Officially Broke Up But They're Not Active Anymore Either And Since They Were Never Signed To A Record Label Their Demo Songs Are Nowadays More Or Less Freely Available. -- 2 At The Time Of Writing There's Also A Second Band With The Same Name On Last.Fm Whose Song "Vison Red" Has Been Scrobbled A Few Times Into The Same Page.
