Mohamed Mooge Liibaan Was A Prominent Somali Instrumentalist And Vocalist. Mooge Was Born In Somalia. A Member Of The Waaberi Musical Ensemble He Started Singing At An Early Age With His Brother Ahmad Mooge Liibaan. Mooge Was Especially Noted For His Abilities On The Oud An Instrument He Would Come To Be Associated With. His Musical Style Was The Essence Of The Revolutionary Spirit Of That Time With His Role As An Educator And Voice For The Masses. He Fell Into Trouble With The Siyaad Barre Regime While Fighting For The Cause Of The Somali Ogadenis In Ethiopia When He Composed A Poem "Afar Leey" Which Was Critical Of The Situation He And The Other Revolutionaries Were Being Led In. Again When He Was Visiting Djibouti In 1971 He Was Imprisoned Again Upon Returning To Somalia After Being Accused By Siyaad Barre Of Stirring Up Trouble He Composed A Famous Short Poem About It "Xeebtaa Jabuutee
