Artist Biography For Mandrili

This Band Released Two Albums "Embryo" And "P" Under The Name ManDrill. The Band Formed In 1997 Influenced By The Likes Of Red Hot Chili Peppers U2 Tricky Pink Floyd And Others And Won The Prestigious Local Demo Festival Ri Rock A Year Later. After A Few Years Of Trying To Find Money To Record Their Material They Finally Sign To Croatia Records And Release Their Debut Album Embryo In 2002. The Album Had Limited Success Among The Local Fans But Otherwise Failed To Get The Band Among The Top Rock Acts In Croatia Which Lead To A Short Break And Some Lineup Changes. In The Middle Of Writing Material For The Second Album The Band Members Had A Terrible Car Accident Which Almost Killed Two Members. The New Material Got Delayed For Almost A Year So The New Album P Wasn't Released Until March 2006. It Was A More Solid Funk-Rock Album And Had One Big Hit Ljubio Valjao. The Sudden Popularity Got Them Lots Of Views Of Their MySpace And YouTube Profiles And That's How The '70s New York Funk Band Mandrill Came To Find Out That Their Name Was Being Used By Someone Else. After A Lawsuit Threat The Band Was Forced To Change The Name To Mandrili As It Is Today. Apart From The Name The Band Slightly Changed It's Direction With Their Lyrics Being More Serious And Sometimes Ominous And The Music Becoming A Pure Melodic Sample-Free Rock. The Band Crowned This Era With Their Geatest Album By Far Tibet Ranking Top 5 Croatian Releases For 2008. Considered To Be A Refreshment On The Croatian Rock Scene This Band Has Quite A Few Things To Tell Us Before We've Heard The Last Of It.
