Artist Biography For Another Year
Another Year Was Started By Some Kids During Spring 2004 Due To Extreme Boredome And Lack Of Better Alternatives. During Those Early Days We Were Highly Inspired By Bands Like Between Us Shai Hulud Give Up The Ghost Section 8 And Turning Point. We Wrote Our First Songs And It Was A Wide Range Of Variety Both In Style And Quality. Some Songs We Still Play Today And Some Songs Never Made It Out Of The Practiceroom. We Did Our First Demo Under The Name Without A Heart In The Beginning Of The Summer And Soon After That We Played Our First Gig In Gothenburg Supporting Shai Hulud. Soon The Word Got Around In Sweden And We Got To Play Alot Of Gigs Supporting Big Acts Like Champion Comeback Kid Mental And The First Step. In October We Recorded 6 Songs That Were Meant To Be Our Debut EP But For Several Reasons It Never Happened. We Also Did A First Short Tour In Sweden Which Was A Big And Fun Thing For Us. We Had No Singer For A Couple Of Months. In February 2005 Were Back On Track And Started Playing Shows Again. In April We Finally Recorded Our Selftitled EP That Was Released The Following Summer On Monument Records. The Cd Have Recieved Excellent Reviews Everywhere And We Are Still Very Proud Of What We Managed To Do. We Didnt Play That Much Out That Summer Just A Few Festivals. We Had Been Writing A Lot Of New Songs And Started Planning And Booking Our First European Tour For The Fall And Just When We Were Ready To Go We Lost Three Of The Original Members Andreas Eric And Thomas. We Had Been Doing The Band Very Intensely For About A Year And A Half And We Were Starting To Get On Eachothers Nerves In Several Ways. We Had Differents Ideas About What We Wanted To Do With The Band But Marcus And Henrik Were Still Quite Surprised When The Decided To Leave Since We Were Ready To Go On Tour. We Quickly Decided To Continue With The Band And Find Replacements For The Tour And That We Did Just In Time. Marcus Switched From Guitar To Vocals And Stefan Andreas And Anders Came In. They Lived A Couple Of Hours Away From Us But We Managed To Practice Enough To Be Ready For The First Show. Then We Went Down To Mainland Europe And Had A Great Time And Were Well Recieved In Every Country And City. Alot Of New Kids Became Fans Of The Band. We Played In Sweden Holland Germany Belgium France Spain And Portugal. When We Got Back Home Things Got Qiuet And Nothing Really Happened. We Were Supposed To Go On With The Guys That We Got To Play For The Tour But They Just Lived Too Far Away And Had No Time For Us Due To Other Band Commitments. So We Actually Broke Up For A While Cause We Felt We Couldnt Deal With It Anymore. After A Couple Of Days We Decided To Give It Another Try With New Members From Our Own Area. We Tried Out Some Dudes And After A While We Found Ulf Per And Mathias. The Line Up Finally Seemed To Be Completed With Every Member Motivated To Take The Band As Far As Possible. We Started Doing The Band Really Intense Again And Soon We Had A New Demo Recorded And A Tour Booked Together With Death Is Not Glamorous. In May 2006 We Started Recording 5 New Songs For A Coming Release And Then We Went On Tour. It Was Good Being Back On The Road. The Shows Were Good And We Had A Great Time Together With Death Is Not Glamorous DING And We Decided To Do A Split 7" Together. Right Now We Are Finishing Up The Recording For The Split And Are Writing New Songs For An Album That We Are Planning To Record This Fall.
