Artist Biography For Šarlo Akrobata

Šarlo Akrobata Were A Seminal Rock Band From Belgrade Serbia Often Categorized As Late Punk Or New Wave With A Particularly Arty Attitude. Short-Lived But Extremely Influential The Threepiece Left An Indelible Mark On The Entire Music Scene Of Former Yugoslavia. Šarlo Akrobata's Roots Are Found In A Band Named Limunovo Drvo Formed In The Late 1970s By Milan Mladenović And Gagi Mihajlović. The Duo Laboured For Two Years In The Melodic Hard Rock Waters Before Realizing They Were Headed Nowhere. At The End Of Their Creative Wits They Were Joined By Dušan Kojić 'Koja' And Ivica Vdović 'Vd' Which Is When Things Began To Change For The Better As They Adopted A Fresh Sound Inspired By Punk & New Wave. Koja Also Brought Along His Friend Nenad Krasavac 'Kele' Who Became The Band's Unofficial Manager. The Band Often Mentioned Zagreb's Biennale '81 Festival That Also Included Now Legendary Gang Of Four And Classix Nouveaux As The Exact Moment Šarlo Started Existing In The Form We All Know. Šarlo's Performance Came On May 15 1981 Opening For The Gang Of Four - The Other Opening Act That Night Was Haustor. Due To Personal Differences They Split As Soon As October 1981. Milan And Vd Played Together Later In Katarina II And Koja Formed Disciplina Kičme.
