Tito Rodriguez Jan 4 1923 - Feb 28 1973 Was One Of The Great Puerto Rican Singer Songwriters Of The Latin Afro-Cuban Mambo Explosion During The 1950's And One Of The Major Headliners Ex The Palladium Nightclub In Competition And Fierce Rivalry With Tito Puente During That Time And Into The 1960s TR Could Do It All Sing Write Was An Excellent Musician And Dancer. Some Of His Signature Songs Are “Vuela La Paloma” “Cuando Cuando” And “Cara De Payaso” Yet For All His Talent And Success He Is Still Not As Well Known Beyond The Latin Community As His Rival Puente Which Could Be Due To The Fact That Puente Lived Longer And Was Further Able To Tap And Expand Into The Latin Jazz Scene Until His Last Days More Than TR Did. TR Was Always About The Latin Sound Especially When It Came To Vocals. Think Nat King Cole When It Comes To A Unique Voice. Recommended Albums "Tito Rodriguez At The Palladium" "Back Home In Puerto Rico" "Carnival Of The Americas" "Tito No. 1". And "Uptempo".
