The Mysterious Servicemen Released Three Records On As Many Labels Between 1966-1967 On Wind Hit Chartmaker And Patheway Records Respectively. Probable Members Were James Mitchell And Hadley D. Murrell Who Wrote The Groups' Recordings. They Debuted With "I Need A Helping Hand" B/w "Are You Angry" In 1966 And Followed It With "Sweet Magic" B/w "Connie" The Same Year It All Ended With "My Turn" B/w "I Need A Helping Hand" In 1967. The Servicemen — Who Probably Were In The Military Therefore The Name — Fell Off The Face Of The Earth Musically. Little Did They Know That "I Need A Helping Hand" And "Sweet Magic" Would Become Top Northern Soul Plays And Still Sought By Collectors More Than 30 Years After Appearing.
