Studebaker John & The Hawks Is An American Blues Band Led By Guitarist And Harmonica Player Studebaker John Born John Grimaldi . Formed In 1971 The Band Was Named For A Car That Grimaldi Owned And Inspired By J.B. Hutto & The Hawks . As Well As Grimaldi The Band Has Featured Bob Carter Kelly Littleton Mike Garrett And Ron Regnas. In 1979 The Band Recorded Their First Album "Straight No Chaser". Grimaldi Produced Their Next Release "Rockin' The Blues" Which Was Released In 1985 And Reissued In Europe In 1992 By Double Trouble. The Band's Third Album Was Released In Europe In 1990. In The Spring Of 1995 That Album Was Reissued By Blind Pig Under The Title "Outside Lookin' In". "This Is Hard-Partying Tough Working-Man's Blues Heavy On The Slide Guitar And Full Tilt Boogie " Wrote Blues Revue. The 1991 Release Of Born To Win Also On Double Trouble Solidified The Band's Popularity In Europe Where They're Considered A Prime Example Of The Classic 50's Chicago Blues Sound. They've Done Numerous Tours Of The Continent Highlighted By Appearances At Major Festivals In Belgium And Holland. In 1994 Blind Pig Released The Bands First Nationally Distributed Album Entitled Too Tough. The Radio Trade Hard Report Called It "a Sound That Could Only Come Out Of The Collective Blues History Of Chicago.
