Artist Biography For Squirrelheed
Shaun Brady Began Life As A Classical Guitarist At The Age Of 6. Since That Time He Has Become Not Only A Highly Accomplished Guitarist But Also An Innovative Composer. Combining A Vast Amount Of Styles Such As Heavy Metal Prog Rock Classical And Soundtrack He Creates Epic Tracks Full Of Emotive Playing As Well As Displaying Highly Technical Proficiency On Guitar And Through His Composition. He Is A Graduate Of Leeds Metropolitan University In 2009. His Degree Is A Bachelor Of Science In Creative Music And Sound Technology. He Is Also A Student Lecturer Teaching Music Technology At University Of Cumbria. As Well As Displaying His Compositional Creativity He Is Technologically Creative. He Has Made Synthesisers From Scratch And Made An Innovative Instrument A Synthesiser And Sampler Controlled By Webcam Motion Sensing

This Is Perhaps The Heaviest Damn Thing I've Ever Written! I've Lately Taken The Influences Of Devin Townsend/SYL Born Of Osiris Betraying The Martyrs And Smushed Them Together With My Own Style And Came Up With This. I Wanted To Write Something That Was Quite Crushing In Nature. That When You Listen To It It Makes You Go "woah Shit!" Or Something Similar! It's Also A Side Of My Writing That I Haven't Tapped Into For A Long Time So It Feels AWESOME To Write Something Like This! Why It Sounds Like It Does It Was Written Out Of A Time When I Felt Like I Was Trying To Climb Out Of A Hole But It Only Seemed To Get Deeper. For Me It's About The Struggle To Fight Out Of A Hole Which Is Where The Aggression And Ferocity With This Track Comes From. It Is Straight Forward In Your Face And Heavy As Hell But The Chorus Is Uplifting And A Fitting End For The Track In Which You Can Always Hope No Matter How Deep A Hole Is There Is A Way Out No Matter How Long It Takes. The Drums Have Been Revamped Using The Metal Machine Plugin Expansion From Toontrack Awesome Guys! And At The End Of The Chain I've Got A Dynamic Multipressor A Touch Of EQ And A Limiter For Good Measure!

I've lately taken the influences of Devin Townsend/SYL, Born Of Osiris, Betraying The Martyrs and smushed them together with my own style and came up with this.
I wanted to write something that was quite crushing in nature. That when you listen to it, it makes you go "woah shit!" or something similar!
It's also a side of my writing that I haven't tapped into for a long time, so it feels AWESOME to write something like this!
Why it sounds like it does;
It was written out of a time when I felt like I was trying to climb out of a hole but it only seemed to get deeper. For me, it's about the struggle to fight out of a hole, which is where the aggression and ferocity with this track comes from. It is straight forward, in your face and heavy as hell, but the chorus is uplifting, and a fitting end for the track, in which you can always hope no matter how deep a hole is, there is a way out, no matter how long it takes.
The drums have been revamped, using the Metal Machine plugin expansion from Toontrack, awesome guys!
