The Sinfonietta Cracovia The Name Of Which Appeared At The Beginning Of 1994 Became A Culture Institution Under The Patronage Of The President Of The City Of Cracow And Was Granted The Status Of The Orchestra Of The Capital Royal City Of Cracow. Much Tribute Should Be Paid To The City Authorities Of That Time As Well As To Elżbieta And Krzysztof Penderecki Whose Decisive Support For The New Quality In Music Contributed To The Foundation Of The Youngest Orchestra In Cracow.
Since January 2001 The Function Of The Principal Guest Director Of The Orchestra Has Been Performed By John Neal Axelrod.
