Prima Vera Was A Norwegian Music/comedy Group Which Consisted Of Tom Mathisen Herodes Falsk And Jahn Teigen. They Were Well Known For Writing Satirical Lyrics To Well-Known Songs At The Time. The Group Was Founded In 1976 When Herodes Falsk Left Jonas Fjeld Rock 'n' Rolf Band Later Renamed Jonas Fjeld Band And Teamed Up With Tom Mathisen And Jahn Teigen. They Took The Group Name From A Fictional Italian Boxer In A Book By Øvre Richter Frich. The Autumn 1977 Saw The Release Of Their Self-Titled Debut Album. Their Breakthrough Came In 1978 When Their Second Studio Album Brakara Was Released. It Topped The Norwegian Album Charts And Sold Over 100 000 Copies. In December 1979 Their Third Studio Album Salmer Og Sanger Vi Gjerne Hiver Was Released And Sold Also Particularly Well Peaking At Number Two On The Charts Behind The Wall By Pink Floyd. In January 1981 They Released Their First Compilation Album Titled Best Of Ebba Which Contained Two New Songs Together With Some Of Their Greatest Hits. They Toured All Over Norway And Had Plans For Releasing A VHS And A Musical And Worked On It The Same Year. Later That Year The Musical And Their Fourth Album Fisle Narrepanne I Tyrol Was Released And Was Their First Serious Release Which Didn't Contain Humorous Parodies Of Well-Known Songs. Norwegian Actors Ulf Wengård Kjersti Døvigen And Ivar Nørve Performed In The Musical Together With The Group. The Autumn 1981 Their Fifth Studio Album Den 5te Was Released. The Original Cover Containted The Group Manipulated Together With Olav V Of Norway Queen Elizabeth II And Then-Crown Princess Sonja Of Norway. It Was Quickly Withdrawn And Replaced With Another Cover Where The Group Is Marching On Karl Johans Gate In Oslo Dressed In White Ties And Green "long Johns" A Trademark Of Their Own. The First Version Of That Cover Was In Black/white And It Was Once Again Replaced This Time With The "long Johns" Colored Green. The Second Cover Art Is The Rarest Of Them. It Peaked At Number Two On The Charts Once Again. Their First VHS Uten En Rød Tråd Was Released Around The Same Time As Den 5te And Was The First Norwegian Comedy Show That Was Released Exclusively On VHS. Norwegian Well-Known Actor And Comedian Øivind Blunck Guested On This VHS. In 1982 They Released Their Sixth Album Ha Ha He He Ho De Gærne Har'e Godt Together With Another VHS Called De Gærne Har'e Godt With Øivind Blunck Once Again As A Guest. Since 1978 The Group Talked Internally About Recording A Movie About Olaf II Of Norway And The Movie Prima Veras Saga Om Olav Den Hellige Was Released In September 1983 Together With Their Seventh And Final Studio Album Her Kommer Olavs Menn. The Movie Was Met With Negative Reception By Movie Critics And It Was Frequently Compared With The Monty Python Movie Monty Python And The Holy Grail Without Being Equally Geniuses. The Group Decided To Go On Hiatus After An Downfall With The Movie. They Got The Opportunity To Perform A One-Week Concert Residency At The Cabaret Restaurant In Stockholm Sweden. The Performance Did Not End Quite Well. After The Audience Botched Them Teigen Came Up On Stage With His Then-Wife Anita Skorgan And Prima Vera Split Up. Teigen Continued His Well-Known Solo Career While Mathisen And Falsk Continued To Work Together As A Duo And Found Continued Success Under Their Aliases Viggo & Reidar And Tom Mathisen & Herodes Falsk. In January 1994 Their Second Compilation Album Absolute Prima Vera Was Released. It Consists Of 32 Tracks And Teigen Refused To Attend A Press Conference Together With Mathisen And Falsk. Their Feud Became Tense While The Compilation Was Certified Gold And Later Platinum . Five Years Later A Frequent Musical Collaborator With The Group As Well As Mathisen And Falsk Marius Müller Died In A Car Accident. He Have Several Times Tried To Regroup Prima Vera In The 1990s Without Success. Later That Year A Live/compilation Album Called The Prima Vera Show Was Released. CD 1 Consists Of A Live Recording From A Concert At The ABC-Teatret In Oslo At March 12 1983 While CD 2 Consists Of Some Of Their Greatest Hits While Many Songs That Wasn't Released On CD Before. The Same Year Prima Vera Was Reunited For Some Shows Held From 1999 To 2001. At September 26 2000 They Performed A Show At The Sentrum Scene In Oslo And It Was Filmed And Released As A Video Album Called Prima Vera A Live The Next Year. At The Same Show A Compilation Album Titled Rest Of The Best Vol 2.5 Was Sold And Only 50 Copies Was Pressed. It Consists Of Many Of Their Songs That Wasn't Released On The Compilation Albums Absolute Prima Vera And The Prima Vera Show . Their Second Studio Album Brakara Was Re-Released On CD In 2001 Their First And Only Studio Album To Be Made Available On CD For 20 Years. The Group Held Their Final Concert At The Oslo Spektrum On November 28 2001. After That The Group Dissolved Once Again This Time As Friends. In 2014 They Were Awarded The Årets Hederspris Honorary Award Of The Year At The Komiprisen That Year And In June 2016 Another Compilation Album Titled Det Beste Fra Prima Vera Was Released. Jahn Teigen Died On February 24 2020 In Ystad Sweden After A Long Battle With Illness. He Had Been Based In Ingelstorp In The South Of Sweden Since 2006 To Find Peace From His Long Celebrity Life. On December 10 2021 A CD Box Set Called De Gærne Har'e Godt - I Boks! Was Released. It Consists Of All Their Studio Albums Being Available On CD For The First Time Excluding Brakara As It Was Re-Released On CD 20 Years Earlier In Addition To The Prima Vera Show Where It Only Contains The Live Show In Addition To 9 Rarities And Previosly Unreleased Tracks. read less
