Artist Biography For Mothernight

Mothernight Is A Truly Unique Band. They Craftly Combine Rock Metal Industrial Cold Wave And Gothic Sounds With A Female Vocal In The Center. Their Overall Sound Can Be Described As Industrial Heavy Rock With Original Sensitivity – A Hard-To-Come-Across Mixture In Metal Genre Dominated By Nu-Metal Rap-Rock And Grungy Goth Bands In Fashion Nowadays. Mothernight’s Origin Began In 2000 When A Guitarist Deimos And A Bassist/producer Gabriel Decided To Start A Band During Some Birthday Party In Warsaw Poland. Their Idea Was To Mix Best Features Of Different Music Styles From Metal To Cold Wave And Gothic. Because It Was Not Easy To Find Musicians That Would Share Their Enthusiasm And Ideas They Began Working On The Material As A Two-Piece. In The Meantime They Had Been Auditioning For New Members Especially For A Vocalist Who Was Originally Thought To Be A Man. When In The Winter 2003 Berith Joined The Band On Drums Several Songs Had Already Been Completed And Recorded With Session Drummers. The Material However Did Not Contain Any Vocal Lines. Around That Time The Two-Piece Hailed Themselves As Mothernight After Kurt Vonnegut Jr’s Book Mother Night A War Story Told By A Nazi Propagandist Who Is An Atrocious Fiend And A Hero At The Same Time. Later The Idea Of Mothernight Was Developed Into A Myth About Female Goddess – Who Is An Adversary Of The Light And Safe Haven For Those Who Have Fallen. The Band Started Rehearsing Regularly Which Speeded Up The Creating Process And At The End Of 2004 The Whole Album 11 Songs Was Complete. In Spite Of Numerous Auditions And Intense Searching For A Vocalist The Group Still Remained A Three-Piece. The Level Of The Material Itself And The Requirements Set By The Trio Were Simply Too High For Over A Hundred Candidates They Rehearsed. Finally In 2004 Gabriel Came Across An Internet Announcement By A Young Vocalist Freya From Silesia Southern Poland Who Was Searching For A Band With “experience Attitude And Fresh Ideas”. He Contacted Her And Provided With A Demo Containing 2 Songs. A Few Days Later The Band Got A Cd With Their Piece Later To Be Known As “Another Chance?” With Her Vocal Lines Recorded At Home Directly On Her PC. The Guys Were So Impressed By What They Heard That They Invited Her To Their Hometown Warsaw For A Reharsal. Soon It Became Clear That She Was The Missing Catalyst They Had Been Looking For So Long. Her Arrival Completed The Band. As A Four-Piece Mothernight Were Able To Finish The Album And Record Their Version Of Shakespeare’s Sisters’ Song “Hello Turn Your Radio On”. All The Material Was Recorded And Produced At Two Studios In Warsaw - Hard And Efektura - By The Band Themselves. At The End Of 2006 The Group Was Offered A Record Deal By Locomotive Records. Mothernight’s Self-Titled Debut Album Will Have Its World Premiere On LR In April/May 2007.
