Mono In VCF Are A Psychedelic Rock Band Based Out Of Tacoma Washington. Original Singer And Founding Member Charles Perales Chose The Band's Name As A Collision Of Sounds And Eras. The Name Was Just As Much A Statement Of Influences For The Band “Mono” Paid Homage To Phil Spector’s Wall Of Sound Production Which Guitarist And Fellow Main Songwriter Hunter Lea Favored A Modern Representation Of For The Group's Recordings. "In VCF" Completed The Idea Of Broadcasting The Sound Through A Moog Synthesizer Something Lea Does Regularly. Mono In VCF Released The Voltage Control EP On May 3 2005. “Modern Nocturne” And “Ultra Love” Became Immediate Favorites On Seattle’s KEXP-FM In The Summer Of That Year. During 2006 Sessions For Their Debut On Columbia Records The Group Disbanded. The 2006 Columbia Sessions Were Never Released. Lea And Bassist Jordan Luckman Both Founding Members Along With Perales Continued Mono In VCF In 2007 Joined By New Vocalist Kimberly Miller. The Group Released Their Eponymous Full-Length Debut On June 17 2008 To Worldwide Internet Blog Acclaim. Co-Produced By Lea And A Seattle Englishman Named Martin Feveyear R.E.M. Screaming Trees The Album Also Features Canadian Singer/songwriter Terry Jacks The Poppy Family Seasons In The Sun Who Guests On Two Songs On The Album And Gave Permission For The Band To Cover His Song “There’s No Blood In Bone.” In April 2007 Mono In VCF Played Alongside Jarvis Cocker After He Chose Them To Open His Seattle Tour Date.
