Artist Biography For Jumprope

Jumprope Was Formed In Boston In Late 1995 By Singer/songwriter Ad Boc Formerly Of Miranda Warning And Beginners Only Cindy Goh On Bass And Vocals Tom Evans On Drums And Vocals And Ad's Sister Noelle On Guitar And Vocals. The Band Focused On Melodic Concise Pop Songs With Often An Extra Twist Of Rich Jazz Chords Borrowed From Bossa Nova. A Demo Tape Heard By Twee Kitten Records Of California Led To Their Release Of The Band's First 4-Song Vinyl EP "No Happy Songs" In 1996. Their 1997 Release "The Pensive EP" Came Out On Japan's Lauded Indie-Pop Label Motorway. The First Album "Bookshelf Adventures" Reverse Curve Records USA And Flavour Of Sound Records Japan Arrived In 1998. Over The Next Few Years Jumprope Songs Appeared On Over Fifteen Different Pop Compilation Projects Released In Japan Sweden USA Canada China And The Philippines. Noelle Departed The Group And Was Replaced By Elbert Chang In 2000. A Second Album "Suitcase And Umbrella" Came On Planting Seeds Records In 2001 And Another Containing Tracks From Previous Releases "Holiday In Brazil" On Mushroom Pillow Records In Spain That Same Year. Though The Group Separated In 2001 A Third Full-Length CD Was Group-Released In 2004 "The Lost Album And Beyond " Consisting Of The Vinyl EP Tracks Compilation Tracks And Previously Unreleased Material.
