Artist Biography For Futons

Futons Was Formed In Early 2009 By Canberra-Based Australian Musician Alex Speed Used As An Outlet For His Musical Ideas. Most Of The Compositions Recorded By Futons Are Free-Form Often Played Live In Altered Forms And Barely Ever Repeated The Same Twice Which Makes Every Performance Unique. Most Recorded Songs Are Improvised With Few Remaining Exactly The Same As They Are Usually Played. Alex Is A Big Fan Of Lo-Fi Psychedelic Rock Post-Rock And Noise Rock And He Strives To Create Similar Songs To That Of Some Of His Biggest Influences Such As Rollo Boris And Mono. All Songs Are Recorded In One Take Sometimes With Real-Time Loops And Overdubs Are Rarely Used. This Is Because Alex Believes That As Soon As You Overdub You're Erasing The Message The Original Recording Was Trying To Express.
