The Project “Ethereal Pilgrim” Was Synthesized From The Original “ROM&N” Due To The Longstanding Experimental Practices In Sound The Desire To Combine Harmoniously Atmospheric Electronics With Complex Rhythms Soft Or Cosmic Vocals And Author’s Intellectual Development. All Along This Difficult Way To The Perception Of Himself The Composer / Producer Was Always Seeking To Astral/musical Journeys. With Each Song They Have Supplemented The Author’s Conception Of The World. These Compositions Can Be Referred To Such Styles As Ambient Downtempo Chillout Lounge New Age Pop. ROMAN PAVLOV Roman Pavlov Was Born On 18 May 1980 In A Small Provincial Town In The Leningrad Region. In 1987 He Entered The School Of Music Where He Studied Piano. Four Years After He Had To Leave This School Because His Family Moved But According To Roman’s Words He Doesn’t Regret It. “From My First Days At School I Wanted To Play Something Different But The Patterns Were Suppressing My Personality. The Teacher Forbade Me To Deviate From The Course. These Four Years At School Have Given Me The Basis Of The Musical Knowledge And After It I Was Pleased To Continue My Self-Study” – Roman Says. During His School Years From 1987 To 1997 Roman Took Part In Different Groups Playing Keyboard Instruments. It Has Helped Him To Build Relations With The Teachers Of These Three Schools He Had To Change. Good Relationships With Teachers And Passion For Music Have Opened The Doors To The Rooms With Different Musical Instruments. “During The Tenth And Eleventh Grades I Often Visited Music Classes After School In The Evening. There In Complete Solitude I Improvised And Enjoyed The Sound Of The Piano.” In 1997 Roman Entered The St. Petersburg State University Of Aerospace Instrumentation The Department Of The “Automated Information Processing And Management Systems”. “Looking Back I Can Say That 1997 Is The Year Of My Spiritual Awakening When I Began To Realize The Importance Of Life Given To Me From The Universe. The Insight Happened In Summer Before The Entrance Examinations. First Of All I Understood That I Didn’t Know The World Around Me That I Was Not Perfect And I Depended On Animal Instincts. Of Course It Interfered With My Studies And It Created Some Problems Every Half-Year.” Since Childhood Roman Has Been Dreaming To Create Different Marvelous Worlds But Until 1998 Music Was Only In His Mind. It Was The Year When He Made His First Attempts In Recording. “When I Was Working In Summer I Knew That The Money I Earned Would Be Enough Only To Buy One Cheap Ticket And Rent An Apartment On The Black Sea Shore. But I Just Could Not Choose A Computer Over A Journey To The Sea. Because My Soul Is The Sea. However My Parents Realized The Necessity Of A Computer So They Gave Me A Present. It Was My First “Pentium”! I Remember My Feelings When I Was Choosing The Sound Blaster AWE32.” Since That Time Days And Nights Mixed Up Together. Roman’s Life Became Fulfilled With Music Lyrics Recording Tracks Virtual Music Studio Programs And His Studies At The University. From 1998 To 1999 Roman Recorded About 40 Tracks. Unfortunately Most Of Them Were Lost. “The Hard Drive Of My Computer Was Only About 2 Gigabytes And Soon It Became Difficult To Store Music There. I Was Trying To Find Some Place On HD That’s Why I Had To Compress And Delete Some Information And As A Reason I’ve Lost All The Digital Data. So Now There Are Only A Few Records On Tape. I Was Disappointed But Still I Was Able To Find The Words Following Me Even Today “There Will Be Other Records And They’ll Be Better!” – Roman Says. In 2000 Roman Created His First Project Named “Rhythm Of Mankind & Nature” Also Known As “ROMAN” And Released The First Album For His Friends “Infinity”. After That Followed New Albums “Echo” – 2001 And “Clean” – 2002. “From 2000 To 2002 I Was Searching For My Own Musical Character Without Thinking About A Professional Project. I Recorded Tracks And Gave Them To My Friends. This Goal Showed Up After Recording Tracks To The “Relax” Album – 2003.” – He Says. The First Contracts With The Publishers Raw42 BE52 Records Were Signed In 2003. In The Next 2 Years Several Albums With “Relax” Tracks Were Released As Well As An Advertising Video For Isabella Rossellini “My Manifesto” Perfume Which Was Broadcasted In Europe And Africa. “I Remember Buying Modem Cards For 5 Hours For Internet Access. And I Was Searching The Internet For Possibilities To Make My Project Professional. So In A Year I Got My Thirst Contract And Expirience In Communication With Foreign Companies By E-Mail” – Roman Adds. In 2006 Roman Signed A Contract With The US Company “Isolation Network Electronic Music / BMI” San-Francisco. Today 13 Albums Were Released And Seven Of These Albums Belongs To “Rhythm Of Mankind & Nature” Project “Relax” “Follow Me” “Spirit Of Asia” “Nature Life” “Transparent” “Think About…” “Free Diving”. “After “Free Diving” Album I Understood That I Began To Exceed The Limits Of The “Rhythm Of Mankind & Nature”. I Didn’t Want To Limit My Music And Decided To Close “ROM&N” As Always Saying That “There Will Be Other Projects And They’ll Be Better!” Of Course I Doubted. It Is Very Difficult To Let Go The Project Of Ten Years Of My Life. “ROM&N” Is My Child But After Thinking It Over I Came To The Conclusion That It Is Inevitable.” – Roman Says. In The Beginning Of 2010 Several Tracks Appeared But There Were Still No Name Of His New Project. This Was Very Disappointing For The Composer. “I Was Very Confused Nothing Came To My Mind. Usually If You Concentrate On A Track After Several Days You Already Know Its Name. But As For The Project It Took Months.” In May 2010 Roman Decided To Go To The Sea Hoping That It Would Help Him Choosing The Name Of The Project. And It Was A Success! On 25 May 2010 Roman Registered A Domain Name Etherealpilgrim.Com Opened His Site And He Began To Work With Renewed Enthusiasm At The Same Time On Two Albums “I’m Looking For My Planet” And “Free Diving Philosophic Ver. ”.
