My Own Hell by Cautiva

Artist Biography For Cautiva

The Metal Project 'CAUTIVA' Was Founded In 2006 By José Travieso After The Split-Up Of A Young Band Of Just A Few Of Sessions Called Desvirgator. With An Early Self-Educated Pianistic Formation And Releasing Several Works For Piano Solo During The 1999-2003 Period - Exploring Different Styles Like Minimalism Romanticism Avant-Garde Or Jazz-Fusion José Travieso Re-Invented Himself As A Metal Guitarist After A Time Of Creative Silence. Leaving Behind The Split-Up Of His First Attempt 'Desvirgator' He Decided To Develop His Technical Skills With The Guitar And To Record A Demo Of Two Songs With The Idea Of Founding His Own Band Later. The 'Cautiva Project' Was Born And A Few Months Later That Demo Was Finished. Today CAUTIVA Is Conceived As A "band Of Only One Man" And Nowadays José Travieso Composes Writes Records And Produces From Time To Time In His Own Study. «Fire Walk With Me!» Released On January 25th 2008 Is His First Serious Metal Release Showing A Sound Full Of Strength Wrath And Thrash With Complex Riffs Passages And Drum Patterns Inside A Technical And Progressive Environment. Actually José Travieso Is Writing And Recording New Stuff For A Next Album. Some Of The New Songs Are «Eat Your Tongue!» «Two Worlds» «War» And «Swing Of Love». CAUTIVA Is A Spanish Word That Means 'captive' And 'captivate' At The Same Time.

Frogtoon Music - Song Info: My Own Hell

Composed* And Performed Enterely By JOSÉ TRAVIESO. *solos #1 #5 And Last Fragment Of #3 Are Composed By Muhammed Suiçmez Their Original Versions Can Be Found In The Necrophagist Tracks «Ignominious & Pale» And «Stabwound» . JOSÉ TRAVIESO Wrote About This Song «My Own Hell» The New CAUTIVA Song And Continuation Of The «Swing Of Love» Track Was Finished The Last Saturday. In This Occasion «My Own Hell» Has Been An Interesting Way To Explore The CAUTIVA Concept From New Musical Perspectives For The Project. All The Common Elements Of CAUTIVA Are In This Track But -As I Was Advancing A Month Ago- I've Wanted To Write This New Song Working More From The Perspective Of The Musical Measure And The Harmony. So In This Song We Can Find A Measure Rather Complex In Some Parts For Example 5/4 3 2 Or 3/4 2/4 4/4 And So On But Without To Lose The Fluidity Of The Speech. On The Other Hand There Are Some Nice Riffs And Parts Based In Arpeggios... Musically Is A Very Melodic Song And Maybe The Best Is In The Long Final Section Of Solos Really Tasty And A Really Hard Work! . By The Way In «WAR» And «Swing Of Love» The Bass Didn't Have As Much Presence As I Like To Give To The Instrument So That I've Tried To Compensate This Giving More Protagonism In This Occasion You Have An Excellent Example In The First Section Of The Track . What About The Solos I've Squeezed My Brain To The Maximum In This Last Section Showing Eight Solos Along A Complex Musical Development Of Near Two Minutes Divided In Two Parts Four Solos Four Variations/solos . One Of The Most Complex And Innovative Fragment Of CAUTIVA Where The "silence" And "musical Rupture" Concepts Have Got The Most Important Role - Here In These Solos I've Wanted To Do A Tribute To One Of The Most Interesting Musicians For Me -Muhammed Suiçmez From Necrophagist- Taking Some Excerpts Of His Best Guitar Solos To Use Them In My Own Context. I Love The Solos Of This Guy And I Must Admit His Influence In My Own Composition Of Solos With So Many Arpeggios And Gruppettos So Much Velocity And Difficult... It Has Been Great To Mix His Ideas With My Own Ideas Along All These Solos! His Merits The Genial Solos #1 And #5 I Have Just Adapted Them No More As Much As The Last Fragment Of #3. The Rest Of Solos Are Mine. In General Lines «My Own Hell» Has Been An Excercise Of Instrumental Experimentation And Development In My Musical Formation . There Is No So Thrash Metal As The Usual CAUTIVA But Anyway There Is The Same Attitude Technical Progressive Extreme... And With A Lot Of Bad-Tempered And Energy! As Always! What About The Lyrics The Previous «Swing Of Love» Spoke About The Bad Love That Love Kills... «My Own Hell» Speaks Again About Love But Just From The Other Hand Of The Balance! Contrarily To The Title It's A Love Song Where The Love Is Pure And Everything Comes From It... This Song Is Dedicated To My Girlfriend - The Arpeggios In The "spiral" Part Chorus The End Melody And Cadence Of The Last Solo The Romanticist Aesthetic... There Is An Evidence This Song Is Connected With The Last Stuff That I Wrote As JOSÉ TRAVIESO The «De Luces Y De Sombras» Album Of 2003 -
