Alexander Curly Pseudonym Of Harm Douwe Breemer Haarlem 14 August 1946 - Drachten 4 June 2012 Was A Dutch Singer. Before Starting His Musical Career Breemer Was A Steward At KLM. In The 1960s He Played In The Maestro's. Later With The Guitarist Of This Band He Formed The Duo Budhi. In 1972 He Went Solo And Made His Breakthrough With The Number 1 Hit I'll Never Drink Again After Being Discovered By Chiel Montagne In His TV Programme Op Volle Toeren By The TROS. Curly's Accompanying Band Was Unit Gloria. The Album Reached The Number 1 Position In Both The Veronica Top 40 And The Hilversum 3 Top 30. In 1999 This Song Was Used In A Campaign Against Alcohol Abuse. In 1975 He Again Topped The Charts With Guus Guus Kom Naar Huus Want De Koeien Staan Op Springen . Aggesus Wanneer Ga Je Naar Huus? About A Knife-Wielding Turk Scored Less High And Reached 12th Place. In 1976 He Received The Zilveren Harp. In 1977 He Released The Album Zilverdael About Trolls Dwarves Elves And Vendor Inspired By J.R.R. Tolkien's Novel The Lord Of The Rings. With The Album Hollanders He Scored His Last Hit In Early 1981 In Both The Dutch Top 40 The National Hitparade And The TROS Top 50. Although The Record Did Not Reach A Top Ten Listing A Football Version Was Recorded Together With The Dutch National Team Which Became One Of His Best-Known Records. In The Early 1980s He Also Participated In The Satirical Veronica Television Programme Hollanders. In 1985 He Participated In AVRO's Sterrenslag. In The Mid-80s Now Living In The Drenthe Village Of Ruinerwold Curly Withdrew From Music. In 1990 He Released A Studio Album Entitled Aan U Het Oordeel. Alexander Curly Died On 4 June 2012 As A Result Of Prostate Cancer.
