Tambourine Was A Sixties-Influenced Band From Amsterdam The Netherlands Active Between 1987 And 1992. The Band Was Formed By Three Musicians From The Southern Netherlands Saskia Van Orly Ex-The Affair Bart Van Poppel Ex-Duplex Johnson And Jac Bico Ex-Piu Piu . Their First Single 'Summer Of Love' Became A Radio Staple In The Netherlands With A Record Deal With Polydor As A Result. Their Début LP Flowers In September 1989 Was A Critical And Commercial Success With Lead Single 'High Under The Moon' Hitting #21 In The Dutch Top 40. The Album Won Tambourine Two Prestigious Dutch Music Awards A 'Zilveren Harp' 'Silver Harp' As Well As An Edison. Their Sophomore Album Waterland 1991 Was Released To Criticial Acclaim But Sales Were Rather Disappointing. Frustrated With This Sudden Lack Of Success The Band Split Up Due To 'musical Differences'. Jac Bico Soon Resurfaced In Bands Such As Beeswamp And Loïs Lane. Van Poppel Also Joined Loïs Lane And Had A Stint In Shine. Saskia Van Orly Launched A Solo Career In 2003 To Limited Success.
