First The Band Is Composed By Gabriele "Estunno" Guidi Colombi On Bass Trama Narrow Pass Armalite Il Tempio Delle Clessidre Hidebehind Andrea Orlando On Drums Finisterre Malombra Real Dream Matteo Malvezzi On Guitar And Alessio Calandriello In The Role Of Vocalist Narrow Pass Hidebehind Klepsydra Lucid Dream . In July 2008 Stefano Agnini Enters The Band To Concentrate On Keyboards And Lyrics Replacing Outgoing Guitarist. With This Line-Up A First Song Is Recorded Parergon That Will Be Added To A Mellow Records Collection Dedicated To New Progressive Bands Of The Italian Scene Never Published. In September 2008 While Searching For A Musician Close To The CDZ’s Style The Guitarist David Serpico Enters The Band. In August 2009 Andrea Lotti Is In The Band Too For Playing Keyboards And Occasionally Guitar Expanding The Range Of Sounds And Possibilities Of The Band. CDZ Proposes To Itself In Addition To Use A Style Of Music Away From The Cliché Of Modern Progressive Rock Giving Great Care To The Writing Of Texts In Italian Language Bringing The Members Particularly Stefano The Writer Of The Texts To Search For A Language Which While Preserve The Signs And Stylistic Traits Generally Related To Pop Song Is A Vehicle For Refined Meanings. In May 2010 CDZ Contacts Hilary Studio And Finally The Recordings Of The First Album Get Started. Alongside The Album-Making The Band Is Busy Covering A Song Of Yes "Homeworld" Destined To Become Part Of The Tribute Disc To The Historical Band. In May 2011 Mellow Records Releases The Album That Is Welcomed By The Public The First Printing Sold Out In A Few Months And Critical Acclaim That As A One Of The Best Debuts Of The Year. In December 2011 Musea Records Produced The First Box 4 Discs Dedicated To Boccaccio's Decameron Containing Among Others A Song Composed By CDZ "Il Paradiso Degli Altri".
Later The Band Entered The Studio Again To Record A Song Which Is Also Intended To Be Part Of Another Collection Of Musea This Time Dedicated To Howard P. Lovecraft. The Song Is Titled "Colofonia". Simultaneously CDZ Enter Into Partnership With Altrock And Fading Records And Signed In February The Future Collaboration For The Second Album Which Is Due For Publication In June 2013.
In March 2012 Luca Scherani Hostsonaten Periplo Trama Has Joined The CDZ Lineup. Italiano La Coscienza Di Zeno CDZ È Una Formazione Di Stampo Progressive Che Nasce Nell’ottobre Del 2007 A Genova. La Band Inizialmente È Costituita Da Gabriele “Estunno” Guidi Colombi Al Basso Trama Narrow Pass Armalite Il Tempio Delle Clessidre Hidebehind Andrea Orlando Alla Batteria Finisterre Malombra Real Dream Matteo Malvezzi Alle Chitarre Ed Alessio Calandriello Nel Ruolo Di Cantante Narrow Pass Hidebehind Lucid Dream . Nel Luglio 2008 Al Posto Del Chitarrista Uscente Entra A Far Parte Del Gruppo Stefano Agnini Per Dedicarsi Alle Tastiere E Ai Testi. Con Questa Formazione CDZ Registra Il Primo Brano Parergon Una Versione Embrionale Di Cronovisione . Questa Registrazione Fu Compresa All’interno Di Una Raccolta Della Mellow Records Dedicata Ai Gruppi Progressive Esordienti Nella Scena Italiana Ma Che Purtroppo Non Fu Mai Immessa Nel Mercato. Nel Settembre Del 2008 Dopo Aver Cercato A Lungo Un Elemento Proteso Al Particolare Discorso Della CDZ Entra Nel Gruppo Il Chitarrista Davide Serpico E Nell'agosto 2009 Si Completa L’organico Con Andrea Lotti Il Quale Si Dedicherà Alle Tastiere E Occasionalmente Alle Chitarre Ampliando La Gamma Di Suoni E Di Possibilità Del Gruppo.
Completata La Formazione CDZ Si Prefissa Oltre All'usare Uno Stile Musicale Personale Lontano Dai Cliché Del Progressive Rock Moderno L’obbiettivo Di Curare Particolarmente I Testi Grazie A Stefano Come Paroliere Portando Il Gruppo Alla Ricerca Di Un Linguaggio Che Pur Conservando I Segni E Le Cifre Stilistiche Che Caratterizzano La Forma Canzone Pop Sia Veicolo Di Significati “ricercati”. Nel Maggio Del 2010 La Band Entra In Contatto Con L’Hilary Studio Di Genova Decisa A Portare A Compimento Il Lungo Lavoro Di Tre Anni Registrando Finalmente Tra Il Giugno Ed Ottobre 2010 Il Primo Album. Grazie All’ambiente Più Che Produttivo La Band Riesce A Fare Ordine In Questo Complicato Progetto. Il Disco Prevede Infatti Numerose Collaborazioni Con Strumentisti Ospiti Alla Fisarmonica Luca Scherani Joanne Roan Al Flauto Lidia Molinari Recita In Due Brani Rossano Villa Titolare Dello Studio Di Registrazione Si Dedica All’arrangiamento Degli Archi In Alcune Tracce. La Presenza Di Molti Strumenti Anche All’interno Del Gruppo Stesso Rendono Il Lavoro Complesso Ma Comunque Facilmente Fruibile All’ascoltatore Il Cd Comprende Sette Brani Cronovisione Gatto Lupesco Nei Cerchi Del Legno Il Fattore Precipitante Il Basilisco Un Insolito Baratto Alchemico Acustica Felina.
Alla Fine Del 2010 In Parallelo All’album La CDZ Lavora Ad Un Brano Degli Yes “Homeworld” Destinato Ad Entrare A Far Parte Del Disco Tributo Alla Storica Band Inglese. Nel Maggio 2011 Il Primo Album De La Coscienza Di Zeno Dal Titolo Omonimo Vede La Luce Sotto L’etichetta Mellow Records. Il Disco Viene Accolto Favorevolmente Sia Dal Pubblico La Prima Stampa Si È Esaurita In Qualche Mese Sia Dalla Critica Specializzata Dove Viene Indicato Come Uno Dei Migliori Esordi Dell’anno. Nel Dicembre 2011 Viene Pubblicato Da Musea Records Una Compilation Ispirata Al Decameron Di Boccaccio Contenente Tra Gli Altri Un Brano Composto Per L’occasione Da CDZ "Il Paradiso Degli Altri".
Nel Periodo Successivo La Band Entra In Studio Nuovamente Per Registrare Un Brano Destinato Anch’esso A Far Parte Di Un’altra Raccolta Della Musea Questa Volta Dedicata Ad Howard P. Lovecraft. Il Brano Porta Il Titolo Di “Colofonia”. Contemporaneamente La CDZ Entra In Contatto Con Altrock E Fading Records E A Febbraio Viene Stipulata La Futura Collaborazione Per Il Secondo Album De La Coscienza Di Zeno La Cui Pubblicazione È Prevista Per Giugno 2013.
