I Destruction Sono Un Gruppo Thrash Metal Formatosi A Lörrach Germania Nel 1983. La Band Registrò La Sua Prima Demo Sotto Il Nome Di "Knight Of Demon" Nel 1984 Intitolandolo Bestial Invasion Of Hell. Sono Considerati Uno Dei Tre Gruppi Più Noti Del Thrash Tedesco Insieme Con Kreator E Sodom . Il Gruppo È Diventato Celebre Per Aver Creato Un Sound Più Duro E Veloce Rispetto Al Thrash Metal Statunitense. I Dischi Più Famosi E Celebrati Sono Infernal Overkill E Eternal Devastation Anche Se Praticamente Tutti I Dischi Hanno Sempre Avuto Un Buon Riscontro. Per Gran Parte Degli Anni '90 La Band Ha Autoprodotto I Propri Dischi Fino A Quando Ha Firmato Un Contratto Discografico Con La Nuclear Blast. Storia
Inizialmente Il Nome Della Band Era "Knight Of Demon" E La Line-Up Consisteva Nel Bassista Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer Il Batterista Tommy Sandmann E Il Chitarrista Mike Sifinger. La Band Cambiò Nome In "Destruction" Dopo Aver Prodotto Una Demo Intitolata Bestial Invasion Of Hell. Dopo Questa Demo La Band Firmò Un Contratto Con La Steamhammer Records E Rilasciò Un EP Intitolato Sentence Of Death. La Band Rilasciò Il Suo Primo Album Nel 1985 Intolandolo Infernal Overkill Seguito Da Eternal Devastation Nel 1986. I Tre Componenti Decisero Poi Di Aggiungere Un Chitarrista Alla Line-Up E Rilasciarono L'EP Mad Butcher Nel 1987. Successivamente La Band Rilasciò Nel 1988 L'album Release From Agony Che Consistette Nell'ultimo Studio Album Con Schmier Fino A All Hell Breaks Loose Del 2000. Infatti Nel 1989 I Componenti Del Gruppo Decisero Di Cacciare Schmier Giustificando La Decisione Accusando Divergenze Musicali Tra I Membri Della Band. Gli Anni '90 Hanno Però Rappresentato La Parte Più Dura Della Carriera Dei Destruction Infatti La Band Dopo L'album Cracked Brain Dovette Cominciare Ad Auto-Produrre E Auto-Rilasciare I Propri Album Accusando Fortemente L'ondata Grunge Di Quegli Anni. Nel 1999 Schmier Tornò Nella Band E Le Cose Cominciarono A Ristabilizzarsi Soprattutto Grazie Alla Firma Con L'etichetta Tedesca Nuclear Blast E La Produzione Di Nuovi Album Quali All Hell Breaks Loose Nel 2000 The Antichrist Nel 2001 E Metal Discharge Nel 2003. La Band Poi Ha Firmato Con La AFM Records E Ha Rilasciato L'album Inventor Of Evil Nel 2005 E L'ultimo D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. Rilasciato Nell'Agosto Del 2008. Formazione
