Formed In 1998 By Daniel Dockery To Explore The Idea Of Traditional And Historical Forms Of Music And Theory In And On Non-Traditional Nonce Or Custom Instruments Vocembrifex Today Is Primarily Focused On The Realization Of Ancient Modalities In Pure Harmonic Or Pythagorean Tunings Through Purely Digital Instrumentation. He Is Specifically Interested In And Exploring The Ancient Idea That The Different Modalities Have Distinct Effects On Mood And Employs Synthesized And Custom Instruments To Recreate Those Precise Harmonic Relationships More Easily And Exactly Than Is Possible With More Traditional Musical Instruments. To Date His Works Are Exclusively Instrumental - Ambient By Design And De Facto Experimental.
