After Their Time In The Crew Ran Its Course Due To Inactivity Neeko And Ozzie B Decided To Leave Mad Dog Crew Start A New Journey Unbeknown. They Approached Babycham For Advice On What To Do Next After Leaving Mad Dog Crew Which He Advised The Pair “why Don’t You Just Start Your Own Crew?” After A Strolling Through Walthamstow Central Right After Meeting With Babycham This Is Where The Idea Was Formed For The Pair To Name Themselves ‘More Fire Crew’ Based On Their Influence From Reggae Artist ‘Capleton’ Who That Same Year Released His Album ‘More Fire’. Ozzie B Originally Knew Lethal B Since 1994 Due To Going To The Same Secondary School. They Eventually Became Good Friends Due To Sharing Similar Interests. Ozzie B Introduced Lethal To Neeko On A Radio Station Called Fresh FM Where Neeko And Ozzie B Would At The Time Hold Down The Weekly More Fire Crew Slot. Lethal B’s Guest Appearance On The Set Was Unexpected To Neeko As Ozzie B Didn’t Mention Anything To Him Prior. Ozzie B Wanted To Invite Lethal B Into The Crew After The Set And Neeko Was Sold On The Idea As The Chemistry On The Microphone Between The Three Was An Instant Hit. As A Trio More Fire Crew Went On To Have A Number 8 Song In The National Charts And Top 10 Single In Several European Countries. They Performed On Legendary UK Programme Top Of The Pops Including Performances On Pepsi Chart And Nickelodeon. More Fire Crew Were Listed As A MOBO Nomination In 2002 Which Featured So Solid Crew In The Category But Both Lost Out To Mis-Teeq. Another Key Feature For More Fire Crew Was Being A Support Act During The Streets – Mike Skinner Tour In 2003. A Turning Point For The Trio Was After An Argument In A Limousine Occurred Between The Trio Whilst On Route To The MOBO Awards After Party Between Them And Their Manager Which Resulted In Their Management Relationship Coming To An End. The Label Decided To Drop Several Artists Due To Funding Issues More Fire Crew Being A Part Of The Casualties In This Process As Such Losing Out On Their Current Manager As They Worked For The Label And Not More Fire Crew Personally. Late 2003 / Early 2004 More Fire Crew Have Made A Return To The Underground And Started Making Appearances On Pirate Radio Stations Heat FM De Ja Vu & Rinse FM. Still Recording New Music And Embracing Their New Found Independency They Released A Project Released “Fire Boundary” Which Re-Ignited Their Buzz Locally In East London. The Project Was Released On Platinum 45’s Label The Producer Responsible For The Hit Single “Oi”. Neeko And Lethal B Came To An Altercation Due To A Lyric Featured On Pow And A Local Rapper Having Issue With The Lyric As He Believed It Was Aimed At Him Which Raised Tension Between The Trio And Ignited The Fall Out Between Neeko And Lethal B. As Tensions Escalated Between The Pair Neeko Decided To Step Aside And Ghost From Operations With Remaining Members Ozzie B And Lethal B Taking It As Neeko’s Resignation From The Group. Fire Camp Was Born During Neeko’s Reign With More Fire Crew But Became A Solid Fixture As A Result Of Neeko’s Departure With The New Vision Of Fire Camp Consisting Of Elders From The Area And Fire Youngers Representing The Up-And-Coming Talent From The Area. More Fire Crew Remain Disbanded From 2004 With Their First Performance As A Trio Ignited 10 Years Later In 2014 By A BBC Live Performance. More Fire Crew Then Went To Perform Again As A Trio On Rare Occasions Garage Nation In 2015 Wireless Festival In 2016 And GRM Daily Awards In 2017 Being Their Last Notable Performance With All Three Members. During The COVID-19 Pandemic An Invitation To Neeko And Ozzie B To Perform During A Live Stream Was Said To “re-Ignite The Fire” For The Duo To Continue What They Started And Being Performing Again As More Fire Crew. 2021 The Pair Have Launched ‘The More Fire Show’ A Live Stream Event Showcasing Old Skl Acts And New Up And Coming Artists.
