John Foxx De Nombre Real Dennis Leigh Nacido El 26 De Septiembre De 1952 En Chorley Lancashire Inglaterra Es Un Músico Artista Y Diseñador Gráfico Inglés. Fue El Fundador Y Líder Del Grupo Ultravox Anteriormente Tiger Lily Hasta 1979 Año En Que Abandonó Dicha Formación Para Volcarse En Su Carrera En Solitario. En 1980 Publica Metamatic Una Obra Maestra De Sonido Sintético Y Punzante Hecha A Base De Sintetizadores Como El ARP Odyssey Y La Caja De Ritmos Roland CR-78 . Un Año Después Sale A La Luz The Garden Su Segundo Disco. Es Un Album Menos Electrónico En El Que Aparecen Guitarras Y Piano Aunque Sin Dejar De Lado Los Sintetizadores Más Cercano A Los New Romantics Y Al Último Álbum Que Foxx Grabó Con Ultravox El Systems Of Romance. Su Tercer Álbum The Golden Section Del 83 Es Mucho Más Pop Que Su Predecesor Y Sus Influencias Van De Los Beatles Hasta El Rock Psicodélico Todo Ello Pasado Por Un Filtro Electropop. Antes De Abandonar La Escena Musical Durante Casi 5 Años Foxx Publica Su Último Álbum De Los 80 In Mysterious Ways Una Continuación De The Golden Section. Sin Embargo Este Disco No Obtuvo Ni La Acogida Del Público Ni De La Crítica De Sus Anteriores Discos. A Principios De Los 90 Foxx Regresa Con Un Proyecto Llamado Nation 12 Con El Que Edita Dos Singles Y Varios Temas Que Posteriormente Se Recopilaron En El Disco Electrofear. En La Segunda Mitad De Los 90 Foxx Vuelve Con Más Fuerza Y Se Dedica A Varios Proyectos. Por Un Lado Conoce A Louis Gordon Un Fan Suyo Que Le Convence Para Volver A Grabar Y Dar Conciertos. Con Él Publica Varios Discos Entre 1997 Y 2008 Shifting City The Pleasures Of Electricity Un Disco De Electrónica Minimalista En El Que Tanto Las Letras Como La Música Recuerdan A Metamatic Crash And Burn Que Tiene Un Sonido Más Agresivo Que Los Anteriores Y Por Último From Trash Y Sideways Ambos Del 2006. Al Mismo Tiempo John Saca Al Mercado Sus Cathedral Oceans Una Trilogía De Discos Ambientales Que Además Llevó A Foxx A Dar Directos En Iglesias Catedrales Y Jardines De Ingleterra Y Roma. En El Nuevo Siglo John Ha Seguido Sacando Discos Con Louis Gordon Y En Solitario Además De Colaborar Con Otros Artistas Como Harold Budd Robin Guthrie Y Steve Jansen. Recientemente Ha Publicado Junto A Benge El Album Interplay Bajo El Nombre John Foxx And The Maths. Además En Junio De 2011 Saldrá A La Venta El Disco Torn Sunset En El Que John Foxx Colabora Con Theo Travis.
