Originally From Rural New England United States And Now Living In New Mexico United States William Fowler Collins B. 1974 Is A Musician Whose Work Explores And Synthesizes Both Musical And Extra-Musical Elements. His Work Has Been Described As A Cinematic Fusion Of Dark Ambient Noise And Black Metal Musics. Collins Records For The Type Record Label And Has Additional Releases On The Root Strata And Digitalis Labels. His 2009 Release Perdition Hill Radio TYPE046 Received International Critical Acclaim And Was Listed By Boomkat As One Of The Top 100 Albums Of 2009. In 2004 Collins Graduated From Mills College MFA Electronic Music And Recording Media Where He Studied With Fred Frith Annie Gosfield Maggi Payne Chris Brown David Bernstein And Pauline Oliveros. He Is An Adjunct Professor Of Sound Art At The University Of New Mexico. In 2008 Collins Founded And Curated The Spectre Series A Year-Long Series Of Experimental Music Concerts Featuring Composer-Performers Who Work Inside And Outside The Musical Fields Of Electroacoustic Acousmatic Noise And Free Improvisation.
