The PRteam Was Formed In Newcastle Australia From The Ashes Of Experimental Band Clokwork Corp. The Band Strove To Develop A Lo-Fi Electro/Acoustic Hybrid Sound Using Minimalist Production And Instrumentation. They Switch Smoothly Between Genres As In Their Previous Incarnations But Maintain An Identity Through Their Distinctive Grooves. The Band Define Their Sound As Electro-Nerdadelic A Phrase That Captures Their Tongue-In-Cheek Lyrical Riffing As They Hacksaw Their Way Through The Bones Of Popular Culture. The PRteam Was Born In 1998 And Their First Gig Back Was Supporting 'The Secret Chiefs 3' And 'Atari Teenage Riot'. In Late 1998 The PRteam Featured On Triple J's Unearthing Of Newcastle Performing The Track 'Bigger Than Trevor' Live From Civic Park. A Low-Fi Hip Hop Style Track With Gritty Samples And Toy Guns. "How Amazing Was That" Commented Triple J Announcer Sarah McDonald As The PRteam Completed The Track. In 1999 The PRteam Began Recording Their Collected Material And In 2000 Released The Album 'Softcore'. The PRteam Use A Variety Of Sound Sources To Create Their Eclectic Collection Of Audio Trips. All Tracks Feature The Live Drumming Of Peter.D.Facto Over This Bedrock John.E.Normal And Thomas.L.Rock Blend Bass And Guitar Lines With Synth And Sample Loops. The PRteam Have Been Previously Described As Half-Assed Electronic Funk Dodgey Hip Hop Or Elevator Musak. However The Description Preferred By The Team Itself Is Electro-Nerdadelic.
