She Mairead Said 'Johnny And I Have Been Friends For Years. He Was One Of The First People I Met When I Came To London. 'The Song Is About People Saying They Liked Me Then Slagging Me Off Behind My Back. That Happened A Lot And He Didn't Like It So Wrote The Song About It.' The Pair Were Together When Johnny Wrote The Song But Mairead Says They're Just Friends Now. She Added 'It's Amazing That Such A Big Song Is About Me. Song written by Johnny Borrell about his girlfriend at the time Mairead Nash who was a DJ and part of the group Queens of Noize.
She [Mairead] said: 'Johnny and I have been friends for years. He was one of the first people I met when I came to London. 'The song is about people saying they liked me then slagging me off behind my back. That happened a lot and he didn't like it so wrote the song about it.' The pair were together when Johnny wrote the song but Mairead says they're just friends now. She added: 'It's amazing that such a big song is about me. It's just nice that someone you really care about writes something like that about you. 'It will be close to my heart forever.' Read more on Last.fm.
