Patti LaBelle Nació En Filadelfia El 24 De Mayo De 1944 Con El Nombre De Patricia Holt. Creció Cantando En El Coro De Una Iglesia Local Hasta Que Con 16 Años Formó El Grupo The Ordettes Junto A Su Amiga Cindy Birdsong. Un Año Depués El Grupo Se Llamó The Blue Belles Sumó A Las Vocalistas Nona Hendryx Y Sarah Dash Y Con La Producción De Bobby Martin Colocó El Tema 'I Sold My Heart To The Junkman' En El Top 20 De R&B. En 1965 Renombrado Como Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles Y Reconvertido En Trío Firmó Por Atlantic Donde Sólo Tuvo Cierto Éxito Con Su Versión De 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. En 1970 Firmó Con El Manager Vicki Wickham Y Un Año Después Grabó El Álbum Labelle Para Warner Bros Pasando A Llamarse Labelle Teniendo Su Mayor Exito Con 'Lady Marmalade'. Sin Embargo Labelle Se Separó Tras Grabar Otros Dos Álbumes Phoenix 1975 Y Chamaleon 1976 . Sólo Un Año Después Patti LaBelle Debutó En Solitario Con El Disco Homónimo Seguido De Alright With Me 1979 Y Released 1980 Además De Protagonizar El Musical De Broadway Your Arms To Short To Box With God 1982 . Tras Firmar Con El Sello Philadephia International Editó I’m In Love Again 1983 Que Incluyó El Número Uno En Las Listas De R&b If You Only Knew. Dos Años Después Obtuvo Otro Éxito Con El Tema New Attitude Que Figuró En La Banda Sonora De Beberly Hills Cop. En 1986 Editó The Winner In You Y En 1989 Be Yourself Con Un Par De Temas Escritos Por Prince. Con Burnin’ De 1991 Ganó Un Grammy Como Mejor Vocalista De R&b Alejándose Progresivamente De Los Estudios De Grabación A Partir De Entonces. En 1995 Publicó Su Autobiografía Don't Block The Blessings Revelations Of A Lifetime Hasta Que En El 2003 Volvió Con El Álbum When A Woman Loves. A Finales Del 2006 Edita The Gospel According To Patty LaBelle De La Mano De Bungalo Records.

"Release The Tension " Is A Song Recorded And Released By Singer Patti LaBelle As A Single On The Epic Label In 1980. The Title Track Of LaBelle's Fourth Solo Album Released. It Was Written And Produced By Renowned New Orleans Funk Musician Allen Toussaint. LaBelle Recorded The Song In Mid-Range As The Song Produced A Post-Disco Dance Groove. The Single Failed To Hit The Billboard Hot 100 And Barely Hit The R&B Charts Where It Peaked At Number 61 While It Peaked At Number 48 On The Dance Singles Chart. It Had Some Bigger Success Internationally Reaching The Top 20 On The Dutch Charts. As A Result Of That Success LaBelle Promoted The Song On Dutch TV In The Fall Of That Year.
