He Recorded The Riff Onto His Cellphone And Sent It To The Producer Mutt Lange Who Put A Microphone Up To His Own Cellphone And Recorded The Sent Guitar Riff. The Cellphone Recording Is The Exact Same Recording Used On The Album Never Being Re-Recorded In A Studio. Following The Song's Release Onto ITunes "Something In Your Mouth" Rose As High As #28 On The Top Selling Songs Causing It To Debut At #96 The Following Week On The Billboard Hot 100. It Is The Second Song From Dark Horse To Chart. The Song Also Debuted At #71 On The Canadian Hot 100 And Peaked At #48. The Song Debuted At #31 On The Mainstream Rock Chart Over A Month Before Its Official Add Date. It Rose To #16 The Following Week And Climbed Into The Top Ten In Its Fourth Week Still Ahead Of Its Official Release Date.
