El Era Idólo De Guitarristas Como Randy Rhoads Y Steve Vai. Lynch Inicialmente Audicionó Para Ser Guitarrista De Ozzy Osbourne En Dos Oportunidades Sin Contar Con Suerte Pues El Puesto Fue Obtenido Inicialmente Por El Fallecido Randy Rhoads Y Más Tarde Por Jake E. Lee. Pero Es Cuando Conoce A Don Dokken Y Forma La Banda Dokken Que George Goza Del Verdadero Reconocimiento Con Discos Como Under Lock And Key Y Back For The Attack. Gracias A La Inventiva Y Genialidad De Lynch Con Su Instrumento La Banda Obtuvo Una Nominación A Los Premios Grammy Por La Categoría Mejor Canción Instrumental De Rock En 1989. En 1994 Se Produce La Esperada Reunión De Dokken Con George Lynch Don Dokken Y Jeff Pilson Pero En 1997 Lynch Volvería A Abandonar Siendo Sustituído Por Reb Beach.
