Bill Jones Born Belinda Jones In Staffordshire Is An English Folk Singer-Songwriter And Multi-Instrumentalist Accordion Piano Flute And Irish Whistle Based In Sunderland. She Won The Horizon Best Newcomer Award At The BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards In 2001. In 2004 She Announced She Was Taking A Break From Professional Music. She Returned To The Studio And The Live Stage In 2019 With A One-Off Performance At London’s Gresham Centre In February And The Release Of Her Fifth Album "Wonderful Fairytale" In May 2019. Jones Spent Her Childhood Training As A Classical Pianist/flautist And Playing In Her Father’s Ceilidh Band. As A Music Student In London She Studied Jazz Piano Whilst Spending All Her Evenings Playing Flute In Irish Sessions. From 1994 - 1996 Jones Played Keyboard And Accordion In London-Based Indie Band The Wise Wound Playing At Venues Across London And Festivals Such As Glastonbury. At The Same Time She Proved Herself An Accomplished Classical And Folk Tutor Running Vocal And Instrumental Workshops And Leading Weekly Flute/whistle Classes For Folkworks. In February 2001 Less Than A Year After Releasing Her 2000 Debut Album "Turn To Me" Jones Won The Horizon Best Newcomer Award At The BBC Folk Awards. She Subsequently Released "Panchpuran" In May 2001 And "Two Year Winter" In July 2003. In November 2001 Jones Also Released A Limited-Edition Four-Song EP "Bits & Pieces" And In September 2002 A Live Album - The Bill Jones Band "Live At The Live". An Album Was Released In September 2003 Recorded During Her First USA Tour As A Member Of Faire Winds Jones Anne Hills And Aoife Clancy . Jones Founded Brick Wall Music As A Family-Owned Record Label With Her Parents Brother And Husband. In 2004 Jones Announced She Was Taking A Break From Professional Music.
