Künstlerbiographie Frank Becker

Frank Becker Graduated From The Oberlin Conservatory Of Music With A Major In Music Composition. Upon Graduation He Was Awarded Two Consecutive Ford Foundation Composer In Residence Fellowships. After Completing His Work On The Grants He Moved To Japan Where He Lived For Fourteen Years. While In Japan He Composed Performed Produced And Recorded Experimental Music With Toru Takemitsu Joji Yuasa Aki Takahashi And Toshi Ichiyanagi. His Music Was Performed By The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra And Members Of The NHK Orhestra. He Recorded Six Albums With Artist Shoichi Ida That Were Installed In Japan The United States Europe And South America. Frank's Orchestral Music Was Also Performed At The Guadeamus Festival In Holland And Featured At The La Rochelle Festival In France. His Composition "Philiapaideia" For Large Orchestra Was Awarded The Prix Francis Salabert. He Returned To The United States To Compose Music For Film And Television. His Scores Have Been Heard On HBO NBC And ABC. His Composition "Stonehenge" Was Recorded By Ransom Wilson On The Album "Reich Glass Becker" Angel Records And His Arrangement Of Faure's "Pavane" Was Recorded By Lee Ritenour On Polygram. Frank's Composition "Five Canticles For Chorus And Orchestra" Was Performed By The Seattle Chamber Of Singers And The Orchestra Seattle. His Television Scores Include Several Episodes Of "Tales From The Crypt". Frank Recently Scored "Dan Dare Pilot Of The Future" A 26 Episode CGI Animated Series And Completed His "Concerto For Cello And Orchestra". He Also Created A Piece Titled "Fantasia For A Visionary" In Tribute To The Late "forward-Thinking" Physicist And Science Fiction Author Robert Forward.
