Dwayne Marsh AKA Multi-Instrumentalist DJ And Producer D1 Has Music Coursing Through His Blood. From An Early Age He Was Absorbing The Sounds Of Underground Music And Soundsystem Culture Around The House From His Parents His Father Being A Jungle Producer Himself. Learning Both The Piano And Saxophone Formally From A Young Age And Quickly Excelling In It D1 Had A Good Grounding In Classical Musical Theory Before Embarking Upon Learning His Craft As An Electronic Music Producer. After Becoming Enamoured With The Sounds Of Pirate Radio And With The Memories Of Jungle And Hardcore From His Youth Still Ringing In His Ears He Picked Up Production At The Tender Age Of Fourteen. Spending His Time Digging For Records Marsh Befriended Sarah From Ammunition And Revered DJ Youngsta Who Were Both Working In Blackmarket Records At The Time. Picking Up On The Embryonic Sounds Of Dubstep Through Listening To Artists Like El-B And Horsepower Productions And Attending Influential Night FWD From The Age Of Fifteen He Started Getting Drawn Increasingly Into The New Scene. After Swapping Tunes Back And Forth Soon Youngsta Started Cutting His Tunes And Playing Them Out Which Eventually Led To His Debut Release For Tempa Records With Three Tracks Featured On Dubstep Allstars Vol. 2 Mixed By Youngsta Himself. D1 Is Responsible For A Number Of Now Seminal Releases From The Early Days Of Dubstep's Now Illustrious History Including 'Missin' And The Triptych Of EPs For Tempa 'V1' 'V2' And 'V3'. Remaining At The Core Of The Rapidly Expanding Scene All This Time D1's Music Has Continually Evolved Refusing To Repeat What Has Been Done Before. Drawing Upon His Virtuoso Musicality Marsh Has Increasingly Explored The Melodic And Emotive Side Of His Music While Staying True To The Tough Rhythms And Impactful Bass Weight Of UK Bass Music. Drawing Upon The Whole Of The UK's Vast Underground Musical Heritage Marsh Melds Together A Diverse Array Of Influences Into His Sound Deconstructing UKG Funky Jungle And Dubstep And Rebuilding Them Into His Own Unique Sound. After Several Successful Years At Tempa D1 Signed To Caspa's Dub Police Label In 2008 And Hasn't Looked Back Since. With A Number Of Releases Already Under His Belt For The Label Marsh Has Big Plans For The New Year.
