Carrera De Chanchos by Tantor

Künstlerbiographie Tantor

There Are 2 Known Groups Who Go By The Name Tantor 1. A Jazz Fusion Group From Argentina Who Existed In The 1970s And 1980s.
2. A Skate-Punk Band That Was Around In The Early 2000s From The United States. 1. Héctor Starc And Rodolfo Garcia Already Appeared Together Still Before The Dissolution Of Aquelarre The Band In Which Militated. During Extensive Time Living In Spain 1975-77 Starc Sent By Mail The Instrumental Subjects To Him That It Composed So That Machi Added The Parts To Him Of The Bass. The Official Presentation Of Tantor Was In December Of 1978 And The Following Year Recorded With Leo Sujatovich And Lito Vitale Like Invited Musicians. “ The Disc It Did Not Have Any Repercussion Because Instrumental Music Never Beat Here” Starc Recognizes. The Two Meetings Of Almendra And The Consequent National Tours Had Momentarily Occupied Garci' Reason Why Tantor Saw Braking Its Growth Of Popularity. In 1981 They Were Reduced To A Pair After Which Babú Cerviño Keyboards And Marcelo Torres Were Gotten Up Under . With This Formation They Touched In B.A.Rock '82 And They Recorded The Second Disc. The Presentation In The Festival Of La Falda '83 Was The Last One Of The Group. 2. Tantor Formed Sometime In 1998 Or 1999 When Jonathan Chris John And Crystal Started Jamming And Came Up With Some Cool Songs. They Were Without A Singer But Played A Couple Of Shows With Local Hero Matt Evans From Staring Back On Vocals. At A Local Show In '99 Jonathan Ran Into Jeremy Who He Had Met Through Mutual Friend Mike And Somehow The Fact That The Band Had No Singer Was Revealed. Jeremy Said "I Can Sort Of Sing" And Happened To Have An Old Recording. John And Jonathan Checked It Out And Thought It Was Pretty Good So They Asked If He Would Want To Sing For The Band. Jeremy Tried Out And Made It. After A Few Months And A Few Local Shows Throughout 2000 The Band Decided To Record And Settled On Stall ..2 In Redondo Beach CA With Darian Rundall. After Recording The Band Attempted A Mini-Tour Of Western States Which Was Plagued By Many Van Problems. However Still A Great Time. Shortly After Returning Home Jonathan And The Band Parted Ways And Jeremy Took Over Playing Second Guitar. Many More Local Shows. Then In 2002 The Highlight - The Band Played The Entire Warped Tour 2002 On The Punkrocks.Net Stage In Exchange For Being Stage Crew/slaves. It Was The Hardest Thing Any Of Us Had Ever Done But Also The Most Fun. We Met Lots Of Really Cool People And Got To Hang In The General Vicinity Of Some Of Our Favorite Bands. After Playing Warped Tour Things Slowed Down As Everyone Returned To Normal Life. Crystal Went Off To College In San Francsico And It Was Decided That Would Probably Not Work Too Well. Unfortunately The Band Only Played 2 Shows After Returning From Warped Tour. We Have Never Officially Broken Up But The Last Show We Played Was March 7 2003. There Were Even Some Practices Later But Everyone Just Got Too Busy With Their Real Lives. There Has Been Talk Of A Farewell/reunion Show But Only Time Will Tell If That Will Happen And If Anyone Would Show Up . If You Are Interested Our CD "The Road Ahead" Can Still Be Purchased At Interpunk For Only $7.25.
